wow...some clarity here for the original question...?? which was EGR Blocker Plate and asking about (Im assuming), the Fingerstick electronic device that fools the ECM into thinking the EGR is working nominally.
Reason to block: # 1 Keeps your intake clean. If not blocked you will end up removing it at some point and having to clean all of the baked on soot..no fun I am told.
Reason to block # 2 I believe that by blocking it will allow a certain higher percentage of Oxygen to be ingested into ones motor dduting the intake phase..
Fingerstick (So called after its inventor "Fingers), is as noted above, the device to install into your harness if you do not plan on adding a Programmer right away. I do not know which ones (programmers), will and which ones don't block the CEL from coming on. For me, I have a Banks 6gun PDA..but put the fingerstick in anyway as it was my first mod about 110,000 miles ago...The banks came later. Good idea to do. Makes no sense putting particulate matter into your motor...as far as I am concerned. No Issues with the egr to date. At some point I may do as suggested and remove the whole system...but no rush eh.?
PCV re-route...?? sorry Dozer but that is
definitely a "for sure" on my to do list.!!
Again all in my humble opinion.
Cheers,
