Dyno tune

I have a 06 Lbz that I purchased a few months ago. The guy I got it from has an EFI live tune on it. It runs good enough but I'd like to get the truck on a dyno and tune it from there. And I have a 5 position switch so id like to get multiple tunes. Now where can I find someone who can do this for me? I'm in Northern California but I'd be willing to go up to Oregon or Nevada as I doubt I can find someone in CA that does tunes.

I think you'll have a hard time finding anyone on the west coast or even anyone at all due to the EPA crackdowns. don't be surprised if you don't find an answer here

purchase your own tools and learn to tune yourself. that's what it's coming to. basically going full circle

there are lots of threads on tuning. just use the search function and read, read, and read some more. if there is a specific question you can't find an answer for then by all means make a thread and we will do our best to answer it

most of the threads are older ones from years ago. efi live also has a forum with tuning threads and tools

What are your goals for the truck? Gonna tow with it, weekend warrior stuff? Was the owner you bought it from able to supply the stock tune? That could very well be your starting point.

Built trans? If not there’s no point to throw it on a Dyno to have it tuned. Really no point to even have it dyno tuned unless you want every last HP out of it.

I dont tow much right now but will in the future, right now its just weekend warrior stuff. But I'd like to have multiple tunes. Tow, fuel economy, and a couple for hot rodding it on the weekends.
Right now the truck has stock internals and stock injectors, but its opened up with 4 inch mbrp exhaust and downpipe, SDP y bridge, 4 inch SDP intake, and a 68mm SDP GT3794 turbo on it.
I've also got a built trans, so I know I can turn the power up a bit.

You probably have all of that you want as it sits currently. As Josh mentioned, anything higher will cause piston and possible rod issues. Josh had to deal with that on his '06 Silverado...

TX of course
That 68mm will do 750hp with the right fuel system. You definitely want injectors. 100overs or bigger would be best. Making more then 550hp on the stock fuel system is very hard on the stock engine.

I do have a fass 165 lift pump but its just running to the stock injectors. I was thinking of going with 60 overs so I dont have to run dual cp3's

60 is too small. 100 minimum. you don't need duel cp3s. you can go with a stroker single if your current one lags behind

I think you’d be better served with a larger set of injectors before anything else. The mods you have already are capable of supporting quite a bit more HP but the main reason to go larger (I would go 100% myself) is to gain some “safety” to the OEM pistons as the LBZ/LMM pistons are extremely crack prone. Going larger, as others have stated, allows for lower pulsewidth/timing resulting in lower cylinder pressures.

As for who can tune it, good luck these days on an open forum. Also, with you being in Comiefornia it’s even harder as it’s even worse out there especially if you have emissions testing in your area.
