it ended up splitting the block. According to Matt there was a piston stuck in the ceiling.
thats not the first cummins i have seen that split the block! they split along the freeze plugs and the cam. there is another vid on youtube about a tractor with a cummins in it that did the exact same thing shows pics of the pistons still in the chassis lol

Something happened a few seconds before it let go.

Watch the top exhaust tube (vent).

Did the ventilation system have something to do with it? That would suck if it was caused by backpressure.
