Would there be any benefit to running a stroker pump or dual fuelers and say 29k psi on stock LBZ injectors?
I want 40-60% overs and know I need more pump to take full advantage but I would have to do it in stages and would start with the pump.

I'm running stock injectors at 29k with marks 3794 as well as marks tunes. No issues here. Also running dual pumps. Both stock.

Yeah but have you tried it?

Mark, have you or anyone done that on an lb7?

Yes we sure do and always have. Is there an issue that I don't know about with them(LB7) cause we have had more issue with the LLy/LBZ bodies blowing the check balls out from pressure spikes. Yes they burn cleaner at higher psi. You also don't need as much timing with higher pressure because your injecting fuel faster with higher psi. Example-My built motor at 15.25:1 Comp oval cast 250%inj 12mm cp3 and a BMW475/96mm T4 .90ar running 1850us 16-18* of timing and 29-32K rail it made a very clean 1075hp 2017ftlbs @45psi boost.

I blew a ball out and got it welded back in. I've wanted one of those sensors for along time. I was told running seperate returns all the way tank from your injectors and pump will help save them.

So just dual fuelers fuel rail plug and tuning get me there or is there anything else???

Yes Ben, you are correct about running the separate returns helping them out.:thumb:

Learn something new every day!! Would stock pumps hold up to that psi or is it recommended to run an upgraded pump for that psi? And where would you get a rail pressure sensor that reads that high?

John Issacs at floor-it told me he ran 34,000 psi on his pulling truck with his pump.

Wow, never knew that some of these guys were running that kind of pressure

I would do injectors over pumps. Then if you want more do pumps

Ric Nuwbury at Exergy recommended doing both pump and injectors. Said do the pump first when I told him finances would have me doing one at a time. I was just asking about the pressure bump to get some benefit out of it till I could afford the injectors.

I can see running increase rail pressure for mpg on my setup I'm usually 23-24k while loaded..

Haven't really check.. Educated guess.. Efi can control it reliably?

I think modded single pumps got a lot of bad reputation from companies who had no idea what the hell they were doing modifying them, like industrial for example and their "55%" "85%" "120%" pumps. Pure garbage.

I had a supposedly top quality stroker pump - only 3 mos old - go bang on the dyno, froze up solid and blew out the plugs. It wasn't from Exergy or Fleece or anyone you've mentioned, not Industrial Injection either.....Industrial is doing good stuff now.

So I am guessing if I want to run dual fuelers @ 29k I should have the plugs welded from the get go? Is the stock pump good for 29k other than the plugs???

Plugs blowing out has nothing to do with 29,000 rail pressure... When the bushing or hard parts fail internally is the only time I've seen or heard of blown plugs...

I thought alot of the stroker pump failures were because the first LBZ pumps that came out had ceramic balls in them that were breaking and causing the catastrophic failure's. After they were changed back to the steel balls they were alot more reliable.

So I should be fine with two stock pumps @ 29k and that should be a solid system to add 45 or 60% injectors later?
I might add I think I am at around 650rwhp now and not looking for any mor just trying to narrow up pulse widths and increase reliability at this power level on my stock bottom end.

IM so dang tired of my dual pumps...i bought them used off some guy on facebook (my mistake) Thinking the controller is on the fritz, Mark and I had issues with rail pressure bouncing and think we got it dialed in then i threw 100s in this weekend and now the top pump makes a knocking noise ...brand new pump last night, still knocking!! Exergy 10mm here i come! If i dont get this fixed.

ADD: Yes dual stockers will definitely do the job for 45s or 60s.
