Hey guys I know this subject has probably been beat to death.. I'm new to the forum.. I'm looking to lower my lmm. Gonna order some drop shackles. Any specific brand, I was looking at spring tech on eBay. What do you guys recommend as far as ride quality? Should I go with 2" or 3" or should I remove my overload spring too? I only pull a bass boat don't do any heavy towing. Let's hear some input!

Just get the cheap ones off of ebay, 3 inch, and leave the overloads. My truck hits the axel pretty easily with it in and only a decent load.

I bought some Crown performance shackles from Ebay, mine flex side-to-side with the 1-1/2" front and rear sway bars I installed several years ago, kinda anticipated it and now need a rear trac-bar.

You'll probably be OK with them towing what you have, anything more you'll most likely hit the bump stops. If you remove the bottom overload plan on installing airbags.

Cheap ones are not option and I think mine border on that and you're asking for a lot flex and who knows what else might happen while towing, just not a good combination...

I plan on doing trac bars at the same time I guess I should have added that. My question is it worth pulling the overload? I just heard it rides better. Or just go with 3" shackles

Depends on the shackles, I know the new trucks are a little bit different. But i ran cheap ebay shackles on my crew cab and they had way more holes to adjust the truck at different heights. But it makes them more flexy the good ones corbin bought that are on my reg cab only have 2 hokes it the top and are solid most of the way up and would be way stronger. The cheaper ones were basically 2 long pieces of flat stock going up like 5 inches full of holes. Id go with some good name brand ones especially if you are going to tow

Track-bar for me in addition to "axle wrap" or "traction bars" or whatever they're called...:thumb:

I've always read that your pan hard bar should be parallel with your axle at ride height . That picture shows it on a large angle which would cause the axle to shift more side to side when it suspends up and down . With the bar parallel it minimizes the side to side shift .

Kinda looks like the truck is on a lift so the suspension is drooped?

So guys I finally got my drop shackles. Any help or info for installing them? I'm sure the bolts may be seized in there but what's the easiest way to get the top bolt out?
