For you guys running M&H racemasters. Should I buy 275/55 16s or 315/50 16s. I feel like the 315s would hook a bit better but am wondering if the extra bit of weight would negate the effects??

What rim are you planning on running? 315's are probably too wide for the aluminum pyos.
I was thinking about PYOs since I have a set already. But if someone made the right offer for them with the tires mounted I would be open to buying another set of wheels

I am really tempted to just buy another set of wheels and mount up some 305/50/20 Nitto 420s but I'm nervous the weight will hurt me.

It would be cool to have a set of each for side by side comparison to see if there is a trade off between weight and traction but sadly it's not something I can afford lol
There is probably someone here who can answer that question though....

With BMF 20x9 & 285/50/20 proxes i cut 1.72 60 ft all the time. I switched to a 22x9.5 RBP with 305/45/22 proxes which are heavier and still cut 1.73-1.75 60 footers last time @ the track.

Ryan did you ever weigh the 285/bmf combo?

My Ultra 20s with same 285 proxes would cut 1.66s all day long. They weigh 85lbs each.

You dont wanna do that. They will probably spin on the rim. Just buy a cheap-o set of used wheels that are the correct width.
I have a set of M&H 315s to use and they are mounted on a 9" wide wheel. The PYOs are 6.5".
