Drag racing is good with e lockers. I ordered one, I broke loose with the front tire and only ran a 2.0 60'. I need to say i had 44 lbs in the tires.

Use it!! If you don't want it let me know. Ill take it.:)

Thanx guys, i would not be buying this one if it wasent the right deal since im trying to save all my pennies for my engine build! Im just not sure which truck it would benifit more, i know i have traction issues now and i plan on removing about 600lbs or more over the winter so that wont help with traction? but on the other hand its fun watchin dodge guys get beat at the local pulls buy a dmax and to top it all off its a girl driving the dmax, she did real well last year but should do even better with a locker!

i never did use mine drag racing for fear of not being able to turn. When its locked in you dont make fast or sharp turns AT ALL!!! I like it for pulling though;)

Thank god we go straight when at the drag strip... :D

Go rape it (truck) in the rain in 4 hi. It's just a different counter steer process when 4 wheel is engaged... IMHO. Mine didn't like it but it lived and i learned.

I got a feel for it by doing boosted launches/trying to make it break loose in the rain. Mind you i don't know much but 4 tires biting is better than 2 or 3 or sometimes.

Drive around it :)

It says that it can be deactivated via switch while vehicle is in motion

So you could switch it off after launching,No? or is it like the 4x4 switch and wont disengage untill we are low speed or let off the go pedal?

Pat would know, he's running one and prolly tried it at speed.

The only truck Pat has drove it on at the track, is the old PPE shop truck for a couple of passes. He just recently installed in one in Casper, but have not run it at the track. Blue has one, but he is retired from drag racing.

Well, why dont we get Pat to go out and give it a shot? Launch and then switch it off and let us know what he finds out? Pat is the true guinea pig, right? :D

Even when you go straight with the front wheels locked it still fights really bad. I have a regular locker in mine and it's pretty scary sometimes. I use 4hi for boosted launches and I hit 2i as soon as I get hooked up and it usually comes out, it works ok as long as your on the gas because it fights to pull one way. If you are driving down the highway where you are on and off the gas often it will scare the hell out of you. It's totally unpredictable. When you're on the gas the steering wheel is a quarter of a turn to the right and as soon as you let off, and I mean as SOON as you let off you have to jerk the wheel a half turn back the other way and the wheel is now a quarter turn to the left, back the other way as soon as you touch the pedal again. If only I knew before I bought it what I know now....
I have ran mine with a locker up to about 130mph once and let off... I'll never do it again. Form then on I use it to take off and kick it out as soon as I can and it works fine. But thats just my opinion. :D

I wonder if GM intended for 4X4 to be used at 130mph on asphalt?

This may be part of the reason why my truck is in the hospital with a grinding front end when in 4wd:D
I sure wish GM had a better system to tell a guy when his diff was engaged and when it isn't. Mine said it was in 2wd according to the lights but it wasn't. And now it's hurt. A ball detent style switch would make me happier!!
