Thank you to everyone for the congratulatory words and encouragement. It was a long 3-5 days for us, but it was completely worth it. I was really impressed at how well the event was run and the caliber of trucks that were competing in the event. It's easy to sit on the sidelines and say how well a truck should or shouldn't do, but until you put yourself in that situation, you really don't know. For those who say the caliber of trucks has gone down, I would argue that the trucks this year were probably the strongest field of trucks they have had in the competition, and I don't just say that because I was involved with one of the trucks that was competing this year. In preparation for the event I watched some past event videos and looked at magazines I had from years past. I have the 2014 DPC issue right here in front of me, which was the first year Lavon Miller competed and won. His dyno pull of 948.5/2034.0 which got him first place would have been 5th at best this year. That alone speaks volumes to me. Just last year, the drag racing portion only had one truck that was in the 10s on the drag strip with most of them being high 11s. This year had 4 trucks in the 10s. I'll admit that I haven't really followed the Diesel Power Challenge much lately, partly because of my experience when I went with Idaho Rob back in 2008, but attending the even this year with Richard has really changed my mind on the event, and I have a new respect for KJ at Diesel Power as well as the guys who put in so much time, money, and effort into participating in the event. I really think everyone should check out the videos the Diesel Power guys put up online, and I can promise you I will be picking up a copy of the magazine as soon as it hits the stands.

Looking forward to the edited versions on YouTube. Any idea when to expect them?

They didn't tell us anything on when to expect them. I would just keep an eye on the MotorTrend YouTube channel and the Diesel Power Magazine Facebook page for updates.

Congrats so was it a gm duramax or a cummins took the win this year? I like kj but I miss when david kennedy was editor in 06 to 10 I believe. those were the best issues I have them still crisp in my closet so I can return to them when a question arises a lot of good information in those issues :thumb:

Thank you guys for all the support. We had a great time and were able to come away with the win. There was a lot of carnage which is to be expected with so many high horsepower rigs fighting for first. We had a great setup and team that worked well and made the trip a success. The sled pull was a bit rough but we will get some seat time and do some testing to come back prepared. Completing the entire event without a failure is a testimony to the drivetrain. That SoCal engine and JoshH trans never missed a beat.

If you guys have stopped watching DPC or never started, give it a shot. It is very entertaining. There is quite a bit of driver skill that makes knowing a pickup well very important to winning. I believe this year was one of the strongest groups with some huge horsepower and talented drivers.

Congrats to Brad Sankey! That single 480 put on a show and flat dominated the sled pull. I am certainly a believer in big singles after seeing it be so competitive at such a high elevation.

We took my LBZ. Just a couple of minor changes before next year. It performed very well in it's current configuration so no sense in reinventing the wheel. Lol

We placed 1st overall. Won 1st in 4 out of 6 events so fortunately the poor sledpull showing didn't hurt us too much. I may have got frustrated at the end of the pull and gave it a little 52 squirt for a last chance foot or 2. Lol

We put an XDP sticker over it for the photoshoots and live feed.
