People like purple:rofl:

Back when diesels became popular they were pretty much the only big game in town and they can market a product that's for sure. They aren't really bad persay just not as good as some others I guess.Mine lasted for 4 years of abuse but the second my twins were on it gave up the farm in a hurry............like the same day they were installed lol.

They do not have the luxury of really being focused on/tuned in on the perfection or tailoring of any one product and therein lies the core problem. Their R&D left the Allison a long time ago. IMO this is why Mike L is so damn good at what he does. He has focused on the Allison for so many years and seen every kind of failure there is. Great companies like Alto and Raybestos send products to him for testing. That says a lot. He has amazing connections with Allison and has a info sharing pipeline with some of the best minds in the country. He's dedicated and determined to perfect his niche market product and that's where you become the winner.

Anyone who has been around high end custom home building knows a customer hires a GC to build a home for a couple reasons. His ability to well MANAGE a building project and his access to the best "Subs" or SPECIALISTS around. Too hard to expect perfection from a jack of all trades. A beautiful custom home deserves the best framers, plumbers, electricians, masons, tile setters, painters/plasterers, carpenters, AND YES WOOD FLOOR GUYS! A diesel owner is a lot like someone having their dream home built. They want to spend their money on the best and know it will last and was done right by someone who does it everyday. More importantly by someone who has GOTTEN BETTER at it every day through experience. Hope you see my point. Sorry for the novel.

Totally agree curbappeal is very important if you can't get people interested in the outside you can't get them inside least as far as cars trucks homes and apartments.

ATS transmissions have a tendency to run hot probably is the purple paint clogging up the heat sink cooling affects of a unpainted case. Between that and the extra line pressure is sure to raise the temp. Run a bigger cooler if you can and use T/H as much as you can around town as a unlocked TC will always raise temps also. I use to be able in the summer keep mine running no higher then the engine temp. Once everything gets heat soaked there isn't much you can do to lower temps

This is how I fixed my ATS heating problem

Is that a 940 Setrab? I like the setup as you are getting some good fan action on the lower part of the cooler. ( upper part is in the dead zone ) If your inlet is at the bottom, it is perfect.:thumb:

i didnt read all the replys but the only reason it runs hot is the pressure relieve valve, i did two trannies for my truck one with the valve and one without and the one without runs way cooler. they both run 300psi of line pressure.

Mike the inlet is on the bottom. Trans runs 190 with out fan driving normal and in town in traffic runs 190 with fan on.

I have Wade's (Diesel Day Dreams) tranny cooler and I haven't seen the trans hit over 200 yet even when towing a 10k toy hauler at 75 mph or drag racing. It's cheap insurance in my opinion.
