I have three different WU on the same computer. I had the bigger number one running when I had the uni-processor client running. Once I went to multiprocessor client and the GPU client the WU went to a small number. Does this mean I am fixing to put a hole in the side of my computer as I did my dmax engine?

I'm not sure but I think mine was showing as Pat mentioned, a percentage.

That looks like it is going to me. Kind of strange, my system tray icon tells me the progress, but as long as the window shows progress, you're doing fine. You don't need the window open for it to work, just open it periodically to check progress if you are interested.

Those tell you the progress. If it says 125/250 it means you are half way done with a workunit of size 250. The program starts small (100), and keeps requesting bigger units if your computer is up to the task. Mine was also doing one of size 6666 or so last time I looked.

Make sure you follow the instructions carefully for installing more than one instance of the CPU systray client. You can't just install 2 two without fiddling with it. It confused me, so I did the SMP instead which was much simpler for me.

Pat, I read through the SMP client instructions. I read where windows7 and Vista would have issues with some permissions or what ever that pain in the but pop up is when a program tries to run. So, I didn't try that. I may though, depending on how long that laptop takes. It's a DV9 HP. I assume you run an HP, DV8, correct?

I just added another computer and am trying this. I had to change machine number cuz it would download the same WU number as my laptop. So, I don't know really but I did use the same user name.

Yes. It downloads the executable (if it isn't already there), then the work unit. Then it processes it, which can take from an hour to several days to complete. When it's done, it uploads the finished answers.

On another computer I have the systray client running with two CPU F@H clients running. It is doing about 1 percent every 6 or so minutes with 250,000 steps each. If yours isn't a hot rod computer, mine for sure isn't. This is the name of the client I downloaded and being the system tray version I can get the images by clicking the display option once I right click the F@H icon in the tool bar. [email protected] I have a 64 bit set of processors and a 64 bit operating system, not sure if I am running the right client though.

That GPU client reports it's doing a 10,000,000 iteration WU. Anyone else know what there GPU iteration count is?

I think I read somewhere in the thread someone was running it offline but would reconnect so it would send. Sounds logical to me.

Have you looked to see how many steps yours has total to completion? Your computer may be fast enough to run a million steps without having to check point. I know mine is older than yours so it's definitely slow.

If he's running the console version, there won't be an icon. He needs to download and install the "systray" version.

They really need to simplify the process, they have like 6 different versions you can download.
