This is a response to previous posts i have read-

I just want to know where any one of you get the right to probe into someones personal life and ask questions about where or how he gets the money to do something? Personal feelings aside about Dmitri, i'm just gonna have to say thats none of anyones business where or how he does what he does. Who really gives a shit. He's doing something for a sport that we are all on this website supporting, taking things further than a lot of people said our parts and trucks could ever go. Some of you like him, some of you hate him but in the end this site and it's contents come down to one thing… Duramax Diesels. He owns one, we own them and i'm honestly sick of seeing people bitch about his achievements and ambition's towards being top dog or whatever he wants to be. If you don't have the money to do what he's doing, or do but choose to spend it else where then thats your business but at least give some credit where credit is do and very rightfully earned instead of trying to piss on ever little thing he does.

If you were to put on a graph how difficult it is to make one of these trucks run in the 8's versus run a high 9 second pass I'd say the line would be pretty much straight up. If it were that easy then there would have been a number of trucks already doing it, so far there have been only 2. Both 12 valve cummins.

So many things have to be right, and a couple of the most important ones are totally out of your control, being track prep and Density Air. There are many trucks currently running that make the HP to do it, it's the weight and setup. I don't know what Dmitri's truck weights but it's over 5000 and less and 6000 I venture. If you do the math it looks like a 5500 lb truck making 1200 hp to the wheels should do it, but it doesn't, being 4x4, air drag and a ton of others things factor into it.

Someone will put a dmax truck that weighs at least 4500 lbs into the 8's it may well be Dmitri, the odds of it be being done with an Allison at least was we know it using a stock TCM is slim to none IMO.

But you still have to consider that there used to be a time when a 10 second pass in a duramax was a dream.

I don't think any of us are arguing that it isn't possible. Its possible and it will probably happen soon. But, I think your statement made it sound as if you were saying all he has to do is flip the switch and "Bam" 8sec quarter mile. But then again, who am I to say anything? I wasn't in the truck and have no idea what that truck is capable of.

No matter, thats blazing fast. It would be halfway back to the pits before I even finished the quarter.

Ken the only weight i have of the trucks was my first race in florida, it weighed out at 5600 with me inside, but the same scale was setting crew cabs at 6500 so i believe the weight is off, i have a local scale here in town i will be taking the truck to tonight, i should have an accurate weight soon!
If he was running nos it doesn't change anything? It's still Fast!

Congrats

Dimitri are you running the stand alone for your alli? Someone had said u are but I rather Here frOme you
Yes im still on the stock tcm with minor adjustments made to the tunning, i was not even aware there was a stand alone for one:confused: are they better simon??
This was a turned down run has it ever ran at it's full potential? Also why is everyone afraid of this guy? Seems like just any other duramax hot rodder with very deep pockets! Seems to me if he didn't want people speculating on his current accomplishments he wouldn't leak info and post himself! Otherwise it comes with the territory.

i dont run a dsp5 switch mack, to answer your question, no it has not been close to its full potential, i have not had a chance to spray the truck this year but once or twice only on the low pressure system, i have had no jets open yet, bottom line is i have been playing hell trying to keep this thing together on fuel only!!! its been one thing after another!! Indy was all motor 7 of 7 passes blown boots! I did activate the low pressure after i got knocked out by h@s just to see what would happen and blew a boot 100 feet out, just as i expected it would with any nos involved!! believe me i would love to spray this thing im itching bad buttt... it wont hold with what im throwing at it now, i dont run tow tunes, millage tunes bla bla bla i just run one tune at a time and so far 2300 pulse is all i can pull of of it, anymore than that is just breakage!! I do not have deep pockets, there have been countless threads of people thinking im some rich kid, i wish all of you that that thought only new the truth of how hard its been to climb and scrape my way to where i have got!!

again thank you everyone for the comments and congrats!!:hug: The truck will be heading back to ppe for refab of all my pipes and V bands, i just spoke with dan were a green light to go, i hope to run again before we head to canada again this year. I have no need to get on here and bs any of you about fuel or nos as it does not benefit the duramax community or Myself as we are trying to bring the duramax on top... the truck was on fuel only!!! I promise you all that!!! Believe me i would love to spray this truck but as i have said i can not get this thing to hold now, nos just increases problems that i have enough of already, you guys will see the nos in the mph when i do spray, and im as excited as ever to see what that truck will run all out, but the problems remain, its not an easy task to even run consistant 9,s i have been very fortunate this year to keep around the 9.7 to 9.9 range almost every pass but still not easy!!! The 8,s are a dream i think we all have, i hope that allison can do it, time will tell i suppose!
