Block itself is black,if It was not at the builder it would prob be coated as well.

Just a quick update,short block is coming home from machine shop Friday but still have a couple things to decide.Bought a set of ported heads and got them home to find they are stock ports/untouched.But on a positive note they do have springs,seats, retainers ,valve seals and are super clean and ready to use.When the mains let go the material scored the cam pretty bad and the builder says its not going in sooo guess I am looking for a bump stick as well.Really want that 9100af in garage sale but one thing at a time.Cant wait to post some picts on fri!!!:drool:
Thought I should share a final mockup shot before taken apart.final assembly will begin next fri and as always looking for suggestions and tech tips as I move forword.Really happy with how everything has turned out...so far
Well the time has come,the block is coming home tomorrow so the fun begins.The builder did tell me there is up to 4 thou distortion(Bulge he called it )in some of the cylinder walls and I am wondering if this has to do with a torque plate hone/bore with studs when released or another bad omen?!,Either way this has kicked my ass enough and its going together weather it likes it or not.And of course il put it all up so you guys can help me do it right.

It's a relief when everything is back in the truck, looking and running like you want it too. Those triples look good.
Thanks Mike,got the melling pump,reluctor and cam gear in now what do u suggest I put on next.tearing down is one thing but assembly is another so dont want to backtrack.
Sorry, I don't have much advice there. I let my machine shop assemble my short block.
No worries,heads are on and torqued,intake and on to the rockers after a re torque in the morn.Should have most of it done this wknd.
Making some good progress today.Still waiting on injectors and have not decided on nozzle size.

Kodiak manis and uppipes on,I think il have to wait on my lds injectors till i get some cash flow.Damn this thing is pricey but worth every penny:broke::woott:
