What ended up being salvageable from this used motor? What's your build going to consist of?

The only parts that are usable are the cam, rods and balancer.I should have asked for a tear down before shipping but never thought it could be this bad.I am not upset with Kris about this and he did say he will make it right, still need the heads and various parts to complete from him.He is a strait up guy and feels bad about the situation.I had sold my delipped set of pistons before I found out the 40 overs were unusable so I need to get another set done and the builder is going to try and fix up my crank as well.Having some bad luck on this one but itl come together:eek:

Motor made it to the machine shop.Build is going to be a standard bore, cut lb7's,carrillos,4884 comp cam/keyed,arp mains and head, half keyed crank:rolleyes:,ppe damper, keyed oil pump, pinned water pump and a few other things the builder is doing:secret:.Really wanted those race casts used but way too much machine work for it to be justified.Anybody in central Ontario looking for a quality machine shop should checkout Stefco racing engines.John is a good guy with lots of experience and fair prices.Still need to figure the head situation out but am Excited its coming together:woott:

Made some progress today on the charge pipes. The piping for trips is a lot more work than the twins I did but this should work out nice.Still waiting on quite a bit of stuff to come in the mail so I will keep up on my posts as it progresses.

Stainless hot and charge piping and alu for the cooler piping, just mocking it all with the mig then the tig comes out to pretty it up.I am still unsure about which bridge I will be using.

Way to keep after it!
This little endevor didn't have such a great beginning but it looks like it's gonna have a good end, sometimes things are just what you choose to make of them. You've kept a real good and positive attitude man, kudos to you sir!

Lookin good, I hope everything turns out for Ya!

Thank you kindly. This build didn't start out on a positive note but all the bad will just make it taste that much sweeter in the end.I am doing this thread to inspire everyone who doesn't have much scratch to play but show it can be done with enough drive to get r done.It is truly amazing the wealth of info and people willing to help on DD. Thanks to Mark @ Dannville for the 475's and triple cp3 controller.

So you ended up using delipped stock pistons or what did you go with? Seems like alot of air and fuel for stock pistons.

Ended up using the mahle race casts in a 15.5,With this much air/fuel stockers would end up shrapnel with my luck.I am looking into head work to see if porting is absolutely necessary with this setup or will springs only be ok.learning as I go so it leaves a lot of (will it work)questions.

Mocked up the hot and cold piping, next will be the exhaust and intercooler pipe.will be using a banks hot pipe and a 50mm gate.May make a set of 2" up pipes as well but that will be down the road some time.

You keeping the hood stack and adding a second one or going with a different setup? How's the motor coming along?
