That really doesn't say much. Pulling the media apart gives much better story but since you used something like a sawzall or grinder to cut it open, your going to find a bunch of crap in both filters now.
I think he was more concerned with the color diffrence...

yeah they make a tool for cutting open filters thats kinda like a can opener and doesent make any metal
What would be the best way to cleanly cut open a fuel filter?
