As long as it doesn't break nothing is gonna touch a 42/55 compound and NOS:D

x2... I am going to assume Dmitri will have the slicks in time aswell or he can borrow Drakes that takes care of the 1/4. Mike should have his trans problems all fixed up as well :D

I dont think you can switch tires, gotta hope everything holds up before you count a win. If someones never sled pulled before, they can have all the power they want, you gotta know what your doing too.

IIRC that truck is pretty close to me... Why wouldn't you be allowed to change tires? that's like saying you can't turn your CNG on for the mileage test or run nitrous on the dyno only?

Good luck man! Ill be looking forward to the results. Sounds like you got some time pulling, thats better than none! Im sure you know the rules, can you change tires? I thought you had to run one set throughout the whole event, maybe im wrong? Ive never seen anyone run a slick before, and i know some of the competitors have had them.

yeah you cant change tires through the event one set only, this is what will seperate all the trucks and how they compete, tire choice is huge i hope i make a good choice. yeah were going to mike l right after i get the twins done, its going to be cutting things close, i still have to get some time on that new set up. you ready for a bigger turbo yet, lets get that thing into the 11,s :)

thank you i really apperciate that:hug: yeah i have some time, i hope its enough. yeah you can only run one set, i wish you could change, i guess thats what makes the challenge so hard, after being there last year with matt im stressing about tire choice:confused: hows the truck coming, are you getting her back together, its be cool to see your truck, your quarter mile time was hard to catch big dog:)

Congratuations on being picked Dimitri, we (Rob and I) will be showing up on Thursday the 6th probably in the afternoon to get ready for TS with Max'd Out. White Out isn't going east, too much to do to be messing with 2 trucks.

Better dial it back a little and finish the Challenge before you worry about racing anyone in TS. When I went with Rob to the last challenge they held in SLC, looked to me you don't necessarily have to win any of the events, just don't finish lower than second or third in any of them. Drag racing is getting a good pass in early then wait and see how it goes, be ready to make another pass late if you need to. Obviously choosing the best tire for all the events is very important. Be good to find out what the pulling track is like before hand to make the best choice.

Hopefully they stick to their guns on the rules, that has not always been the case in the past. The event was supposed to be an all around test for street driven trucks, it has evolved way beyond that in many cases.

The two things I saw at the event I attended that I didn't think was quite right was allowing someone other than the registered driver to dyno the truck and they held up the competition too long waiting for a broken truck to make it back. If they establish a time frame for each event then they should stick to it period, it's not fair to the trucks that are still running to wait for a broken one beyond the event time limit.

It should be a good time for sure. Matt (Camomax) was the one picked I figured he would chime in but he has been busy. The new twins with the 114 should make a little steam. I can't wait to help and I think there will be a few surprises from the ford camp also. Jeff

Good luck to Matt, a finer fellow you will not meet. If we can get out of Boise we'll try and get there a bit earlier to see the fun.

That's awesome. Matt has a runner for sure. Does he have it back together yet?

Matt's truck

he has a new motor with a couple of passes on it. He ran it a BG last fall and smoked the stock turbo. I can't wait to see the rules and start getting ready. Jeff

So what is everyones opinion on the best tire for the DPC? I have always wondered what would be the best. Didn't the guy with the Dodge that won it last year just run Nitto Terra Grapplers? I have always thought about the BFG AT as a good all around tire, how do they hook on the street? They would work good in the pull. What about Dune Grapplers?
