We were fixing Brian's axle when they came over and said.. "if you can pull the sled a foot then you'll win the DPC 2010.." So we pulled the truck (front wheel drive) off the trailer and headed to the sled, yanked it a foot and were declared winners. Then about an hour later they came back and said we may have made a math error. Which, honestly is fine, but I would have liked to have the 45 minutes that we had left to fix the axle and go pull again. They said they had a timeline to meet and only had the track until 5:00.. I thought that was pretty stupid since the next pull didn't start for 27 hours but hey.

All in all we were happy, but hopefully DPMag learns from this and can put on a better event next year. There's no reason to make rules if they're not going to enforce them, which I think all of the competitors would agree on.

Personally I would like to see it changed into only 3 events. Drag, sled pull, and dyno. Each person is allowed to change the setup however they see fit to win each event. It would be interesting to see how somebody could turn a dedicated drag truck into a puller overnight etc etc..

Again we had fun... just wish they would've given us the 1 hour repair time promised, because they were the ones that interrupted it, we were ready to swap an AAM axle from the tow truck to Parker's dodge and had 10-15 able bodied tool weilding competitors there to help out. That 15 minutes was a blast. :thumb:

It was BS. And the whole not enforcing rules just to move the event along was BS as well.

I know we could have gotten that rear end swapped from the tow truck or at the very least got the pumpkin spun back to the right direction. It was truely amazing seeing all the crews come together like that to try to help fix Brian's truck for the pull off.

It was very nice meeting everyone there and getting to put some faces to the names from here. Bunch of great guys.

I just wish the guy with the lifted Dmax (think it was Dave Sanders) would have stayed around. I think his truck would have been a pulling machine.

Congrats Dmitri and all others that competed. I got to meet Dmitri and Tim for the first time in person over the weekend, and we had a pretty good time. I have a pretty good picture of the DPC winner himself i might have to post up.:D We also got a pretty funny look by the house keeping ladies when we were rolling his slicks out of our room this morning down the hall way of the hotel.

I am a Chevy man to the core, but I was hoping Parker would come away with it. Our families are friends, and I know he builds his stuff himself which is a big thing to me.

Accept my condolences. Yee Ha!:coolspot:

On a serious note, you never know what will happen in a competition on a given day. Things go wrong, driver or truck has a bad day, someone makes a mistake, something breaks, whatever. The truck and driver that won was the best truck on that day. Congrats to all that competed as they are all champions for sure and with a little twist of fate could have won. I salute all you competitors. :thumb::D
