Easy now brother. Some of us deserve more respect than that. Several of us have earned blood stripes while trudging up hills with 100LB ruck sacks on our backs. Not only that, I built my truck from the ground up with little help from friends, some of which are members of this site also. I have also worked on many trucks for nothing more than a 2 liter of MT Dew to help some friends out.
Lets keep the name calling/bad mouthing to a minimum. I stepped out of the scene for a few months handling family and disability issues and a busy time at my family towing business. So not all of us deserve to be crapped on.
It's a fine line between blowing off some steam, and trying to start a fight. We are watching this thread.
Understand that many of the members here were also early members of TDP when it started. Some invested hundreds of hours helping others, and helping TDP grow. We "own" that board just as much as AF does, if not more. It wasn't them helping a fellow member in the middle of the night, reporting on diesel news when you'd rather just relax and enjoy an event, donating money to start the site in the beginning, etc, etc.
Comments like "maybe we will buy you out", are every bit the insult as anything else posted in this thread.
The mods here are all hotrodders, and their primary duty is to help others with diesel problems. If there are mods at TDP that are more LAPD than AAA, then perhaps AF needs to actually manage that site. Or just tolerate pissing-off a percentage of the members.
I really have no beef with any of the members/mods at TDP. Just Nick D, and to a minor degree Chad and AF. I'm not going to pretend I'm going to forget their slimy dealings with members of the Dmax community.
Enthusiast boards should be run by enthusiasts, not telemarketers or rent-a-cops.
