No. Im embarrassed for my driving skills. Lots and lots of wheelspin and hop. I need suspension and tire help....badly.

Best was [email protected]. hop hop hop Ive got video of one particularly bad run were the truck is lunging forward at the line and hops badly...and I still beat the ricer next to me.

Frankly, Im pissed at myself and very disappointed I couldnt do better given what Ive got. Maybe driving lessons?

Darius and I agree I need drag radials badly. Next up, he and I will go to Stanton, which is a much better track, and give it a try there. He said I can borrow his D.R.s. I also have to go buy some QA1 shocks and possibly Caltracs now....

What are your plans for the suspension?

I was running stock shocks spring clamps and homemade traction bars and half bald street tires 265's when i pulled my 12.39 but the 60 was only 1.76 first gear launch. I must have gotten really lucky but i also wasn't dynoing 580 :coolspot:

What were your 60's? You still should be able to control your launch without drs and caltracs. What shocks are you running now? Maybe the pinion snubber is hurting you?

As you can see, I started to boost up and let off, I think I was starting to blow thru the brakes. Still ~2000rpm launch. Normally Ive got a decent cloud started before launch. Now that I watch it a few times, I can hear the tires squawking as I leave.

Bilsteins, clamps, snubber for suspension. Front end comes up far too much and unloads the front tires.

Rhall, it could be that its hurting me. I just dont know.

Stats:

60ft - 1.727
1/8et - 7.86
1/8mph - 86.35
1/4et - 12.43
14mph - 106.78

D/A calc says that run was a 12.31, but dammit Im still not happy about it.

Sorry guys, I just really really pissed off right now. I didnt want to embarrass Mark and his shop, and Im afraid I did. The rest of the truck isnt "up to par" with the tune, and Im a firm beliver that everything has to work together...hence the need for upgraded suspension now to match the tune. What Im doing now isnt working.

dude i dont know what you are so mad about, those are better times then what i ran and ive got twins. your 1/8 is better and 1/4 is better. for just a stock charger i wouldnt beat yourself up over it too much. those are really good times.

Seriously Tom. Ive seen much worse launching on video from my own self. Your truck is FAST, faster than most of us stock turbo guys. Its just a learning curve as the forumla for power is not the same now with the terrirory you are in. I think your snubber is whats unloading the front end, not driver error.

OK, I'll post the last run so you can see what Im talking about. James got a very good shot of the problems I have launching my truck for the past few months. I just cant hold it on the brakes. The other two runs were [email protected] with a 1.948-60ft, and this one [email protected] with a 1.984-60ft. I guess I can take solace the the mph was still there....

I thought your MPH was 108?
To me it looks like your backend isnt squating enough

Bad 60' time

I would take the pinion snubber off. I don't think it will work at all. I wanted to say something back when everyone was talking about it but didn't want to sound like a know it all. Mopar's work because the way the springs are made. The front part of the spring is a lot shorter than the rear part(center pin). Put spring clamps and good front shocks and you will be fine! That's part of racing. Jeff

X2, i would take it off. Im running bilsteins right now and they suck for rebound. My last trip to the track, just running spring clamps and the tbars down all the way i could only manage a 1.75 60'. Which isnt bad for street tires and 900+hp, but if you watch my video my front comes up bad and the tires spin through 3rd gear. I have a set of qa1's on orders, im going to go back to the track with them and a cage, and see what kind of improvement i get on street tires. Then start messing with the rear end.

I meant the mph was consistent even though the ETs varied. With 4wd my thinking has always been that we didnt want the rear to squat at all, but rather wanted level launches.

Yeah, Im starting to think maybe you're right. I thought it was helping originally, but maybe Im wrong. Like I said way back when, if it didnt work, I could always fall back on Caltracs. Good front shocks would help immensely, which I will rectify in short order.

I think that you need an equal amount of weight on all four tires. Since the front of the truck is heavier than the back you need a little weight transfer
