Your 60 ft isn't horrible by any means. I don't know if it's the way the ml converter acts or what but if I try going over 2000 rpms(like 2150) and 10-12psi of boost mine comes out so hard the front hikes way up and starts bouncing like a pogo stick and smokes the tires. If yours acts like mine it's real aggressive when you let it loose of the line and very hard to keep it there when you go over 2000 rpms. If you get the front end to stay down I belive that will help alot as I am going to try to the next time out. Maybe the tunning change brought the torque in too fast????

That is EXACTLY what happens to me at the line. It walks right thru the brakes.

I have some extra money coming next week, so a set of QA1's are coming.

Sweet, I hope they work. Im a real cheap ass as I will try something else to keep it down:D I've thought real hard about trying a second gear launch as I would think it would help with this converter but I'd rather not find out the hard way!

First off, congrats on the truck Tom, I know you didn't get what you wanted this time out, but it is still impressive.

I agree with Jeff. Looking at the vid, those Bilstein shocks must be junk for racing.

I also have problems walking through my brakes Tom, a brake upgrade sure would be nice.

Also, really not trying to be an ass, but the trap speed calc. indicates 540HP if your truck was weighing 6500. Your truck trapped the same on your earlier trips to the track, right? Just asking to see if there was any gain. I know the dyno says there was but we all know how that goes. I guess if the air was super shitty that could explain it...

i have thread floating around called " dont use bilstien shocks for drag racing"

Toms truck being a stock turbo rig with alot of fuel he will really get hit hard by poor air , my truck is the oposite alot of air and little fuel and i can still tell when the air is poor , i have lost 3 mph before just from hot lapping to much and heat soaking stuff .

this is not the time of year you will see records being set , this fall should be intersting across the boards .

I know bad air can effect MPH quite a bit. I was more or less wanting to compare the DA from his previous trips to this one. 40 HP is a lot.

From my experience, tires will make more difference that any other change in suppressing hop. Water will make any tire hop though, so if the guy in front of you gets the track wet, you are going to have trouble.

We both had that problem. There was no way to go around the water box, they sprayed the entire lane. You were getting your tires wet no matter what.

So Tom's tires were wet when he was launching? I would think that would be a 60 killer. lol I'd be happy with a 1.7x 60 with wet tires...

I tried both lanes, and both were wet when I went thru. He was only one or 2 ahead of me in the lanes.

On my second run the goof pulled out the hose and started spraying the other lane then turned to mine and I'm in the van waving my hands "NO" and shaking my head back and forth. He did it anyway

I wasnt going to blame my bad day on the teenager running the water box, but I did fire off an angry email to US131 Dragway about it. A racer should be able to adjust, and I did not.

Slick, I trapped 108+ on some of my previous runs. That 12.43 run DA's out to [email protected]. MPH seems a bit off, but it is what it is.

As for the shocks....lets just say Ill have some front Bilsteins for sale pretty soon. I wonder if the front end coming up so fast and hard is whats really screwing with the suspension? Hell, I dont know...Im a UPS driver for cripes sake, not a mechanical engineer.

Tom, whats your best time to date? IIRC you have run in the 11s a time or two. Or am I dreaming?

Good Lord, if I ran an 11, I'd be so darn high Id probably never come down. CDLLY has it right. 12.40 is my best. I'll have to dig up my old slips, but I think I had a mph of 108.8 once.
