I switched to amsoil, scattered two engines. Now did that cause it,,,, not sure but I'm not one for taking chances again and that was the only thing I did different and the only engines I've completely blown to pieces. Got away from Amsoil haven't ventilated a block since :D:thumb:

25k is under damn near perfect conditions with a stock truck.

Obviously the higher HP there is more soot getting in the oil, making it dirty and black.

I dont think anyone here would go 25k miles @ 500rwhp..

I buy Delo 400 15/40 at Walmart for $8/gal. last month on sale synthetic and just like MoBil 1 same company etc. I run it 100 hrs. and change it by hrs of service. So I spend $20 for oil and $10 for a K&N oil filter. No issues and you can buy many great synthetic or dino oils or a good price compared to the hi priced listed ones you see in the market. I change my fuel filter 200 hrs. of service and run a gallon of 2 stroke oil to 32 gals. of fuel also I should mention. Truck has never been to dealer 6 yrs. now I guess.

I run Delo 400 in everything I own from diesel trucks/tractors/equipment to gasser trucks/cars to dirt bikes/quads/law mowers. Awesome oil. Have a Chevy 350 with 400K on it and still running strong never been rebuilt and a Chevy 400 with 550K still running strong never been rebuilt. Just change the oil every 3K miles or 3 months religiously and run Wix filters.
