Here in Hawaii we pay more for everything fuel $4.30 a gallon,Amsoil $12.00 a quart + 4.8% tax and if you buy a case $10.50 a quart and I change oil at no more then 6k its getting expensive chevron always made great product so at half the price and hands down a mega oil company just put it out there see what you guys think of the product Thanks

Amsoil 15-40 should not cost that much, get ahold of a dealer or become one yourself. i did it 6 years ago and never looked back!
PC price is $78 for oil & filter
You have to to run it for 10k to get a savings over 2 oil changes @ 5k
Im going back to shorter intervals with conventional oil but still going to use amsoil filters

Has anyone here ran Volvo's oil in their Duramax?

Here's what the jug reads: Ultra Diesel Engine Oil
Viscosity: SAE 15W-40
Quality grade: VDS-3, API CI-4/CH-4, ACEA E7/E5/E3
Link: http://www.volvo.com/dealers/en-us/ascusa/partsservice/lubricants/lubricants.htm?TAB=1

Their products are generally pretty good, but I don't know if the "quality grade" is something that's different for the big rig engines vs our smaller diesels that we run in our pickups. The viscosity is right on the money though.
