Just wondering if I am the only one having these type of issues or if it becoming way more common. Seems I have to beg to buy parts and items way to often anymore. I work in a job were talking on the phone or phone calls are hard to accommodate. Email and pm are easier to fit in the schedule when I have a few minutes. Seems so many places won't take the time to get back to you about purchasing or tech info on their products. I don't understand it. My money is as good as anybody else's. Somebody asks me a question I do my best to give a respons in timely manner. It is just the curtious thing to do. If you don't have a good answer at least respond saying that. Some places have some specialized products that I would love to buy. I hate giving business to people that don't care about you. I wish I was doing well enough to turn away business. I guess I am just getting frustrated. I am trying to line things out for a project and it isn't going near as well as I was hoping. Sorry to vent.

I see it all the time. Its good for me because my customers know I will help them. It may take a little time but I always get the info they need. A lot of people today just dont seem to get it.

No not Dimitri but a few others. It's just sad to see everything turning this way. I am getting back in the diesel game some after being out for four year's. Seems the diesel world went down hill to me. I do a lot in the firearms sporting world too service there is about the same. On a plus Bill Devine at Bullseyepower has hands down the best customer service I have delt, with in years. A great guy who treats you like you want to be treated. Wish there was more of that.

You should read the Fuelab thread, it'll really reafirm your current belief unfortunately. Customer service doesn't matter as much in the Internet age, but there are still companies that believe in it.

X2. To many forum warriors starting their own diesel shops and flooding the market. Seems like once they get your money then you loose the customer service.

No doubt will do. I have a few grand worth of parts now. I am trying to spend more, but somehow that is being harder to do than expected. I will be back in two weeks and start the next phase of the build. Hopefully with all the parts I need. I am getting excited I have put less than 50 miles on my truck in the last four years. Can't wait to go melt some tires.

I'm in the same boat right now. Everyone always seems like they're on another line to answer my call, or I'll never get a phone call back. Sucks to hear man.

I see it too. I have a really....um really well know shop we all know and I deal with and buy stuff all the time and I still get the attitude/response "Oh its you again with a question, Cant you email us your order instead of calling" sometimes I want to call and talk to someone about the product, but on the other side of things some people don't know how to keep it short and too the point so I can see it getting a little frustrating at times. I have a few of these customers, that all of a sudden are telling you about family problems and stuff that happened to them that have nothing to do with diesel... oh well.

I tried to buy some new tractors, but I couldn't get the dealer off dead center. I bought a different brand, and will continue to do so. In the end, their crappy customer service cost them not only in the first go round, but since I rotate equipment every 3 years, it will cost them a lot more in the long run. I don't know what they make on each tractor, but by the time you add in the service and parts they could sell me....?? I don't get poor customer service.:dontknow:

I have a hard time calling. I work long hours in the oil field. I spend most of my time between 5000hp. It isn't quiet enough to call. Pm or email is usually the way to go for me. You would think that that would almost be easier. They can answer at their own leisure. Most people aren't awake when I get home to call.

It's easy for a company to do good work and jump through hoops for people that get recognized online for posts and thread counts. I've purchased items from a lot of reputable businesses and it's almost night and day difference between company's that have a few well known customers and one that has hundreds of customers.. It seems like the ones with more customers are more likely to treat you better I think

That is so true. I've seen small shops that the forums love have terrible customer service!

And some they hate that are awesome. Edge has some iffy product quality (cough egtprobes cough) But... they have some of the best customer service in the industry. I've had 2 or 3 probes go bad and one cs monitor that just bit the dust. Everything has been replaced free of charge and in a timely fashion, all while having friendly people on the other end that are easy to get a hold of.

I've been doing the diesel shenanigans for about 10 years now and when you find a good shop you better hold onto it. Here are my recent experiences with non local shops.

I've never bought anything from Dimitri and he answered a couple of transmission questions for me within 24hrs.

DDP was also very helpful and I spoke with them in depth before ordering injectors. On the other hand, the guy at Exergy was a jerk and I will never buy from them.

Also, I recently had a really good experience with Danville Performance. Mark answered several PMs and 2 phone calls on a turbo before I ordered it. I will definitely be doing business with Mark again.

Customer service is paramount no matter where you are, or, what method you use to contact. If you do not answer the phone/email you do no get the business, why, because your customer moved on. I have called a few myself and I do not call those companies anymore. Being a parts man myself to pay the bills I do my best between 7am to 5pm 5 days a week at my job. Now working a heavy equipment counter and learning at this new company and slowly gaining speed. I only hope I help the customers with great service and efficiency, and all you can do is work at it to be great. :thumb:

I do alot of business with Merchant Auto, some of the best customer service I have had. Same goes to Mark and the crew at Danville. I know exactly what you mean with exergy, pretty rude if you are not a dealer or a big name in the game
