iv heard cryo treating hard parts makes them alot stronger! i dont know where you would be able to get that done at though.

did todd cut the pistons? it kinda looks like maybe the bowls were cut wrong and the burn wasnt staying in the bowl. If Guy sees this maybe he can chime in.

No nitrous, only 40% Injectors and dual LLY CP3's... I do not tune my truck so I dont know the timing and pulswidth, but knowing my tuner's track record for conservative tunes and keeping motors together I doubt that had anything to do with it. I think I probably did most of the damage in one night at a local pull were I pulled 3 times back to back and pretty much melted my up-pipe bellow's and caught the truck on fire :booboo:

Yeah. Understood. Sorry.

Guess we will know for sure when Craig has to pull his apart ;) Not trying to jinks Craig or anything

I never seen any other cut pistons ( In Person ) to compare to other then mine and craigs so I am not sure if they were cut correctly or not. I would be interested to hear from Guy what his thought's are. I do know Todd does not lack much for tooling over there and deals first hand with Guy so one would think they would be correct:confused:

Were these the same ones that you ran high egts with before?

Yes, But,,,,,,,,, They checked out perfect before going to be de-lipped, No knicks, erosion, or abnormal wear, They did not even have the famous star pattern on them.. Hence why I reused them....

I only suggested it because when Eastwoods cut Ben's pistons a few months ago, they had a very slight taper in the bowl (.00x") that Guy was not comfortable with for that reason.

I did not realize it needed to be that precise when De-lipping, but this is a learning process for me, A expensive one at that

Be nice to know the pw and timing. When i'm back in Md I think I will pull a injector and take a bore scope and look and a few of my piston tops to see how they look.

I would assume the PW and timing is similar to yours looking at your sig ;) As far as the bore scope, It couldn't hurt, If I had one I would have done the same thing when I first started noticing I had a problem..

I have 40,000 miles on my build the last 20,000 has been on the twin turbos and Robs tune with around 2475 pw and 26 timing with the 30% tips and dual cp3 and MPI twin kit. The other 20,000 was with the GT4202R and 30% and dual cp3 with timing in the 30 area and pw around 3000. So I would like to see what mine look like this was not Robs tuning.

whose injectors are you using?

George did my 40 over's 2 years ago,, They were in my original engine, my built engine and now my current engine, I just checked the balance rates again yesterday and they still look as good as when I got them.. Point being I do not believe the Injectors are or were the culprit IMHO..

are you going to have them flow tested? Exergy will flow them at idle, cruising, and 1800 bar probably wouldn't be a bad thing eh? i think they charge $400.00

I am going to have Exergy hone them 80% to maybe 100% here in the near future and flow test / balance them... Again not because I think they are the culprit in my pistons melting but Becasue I am want to go bigger and would not mind a little reassurance they are in spec........

Good to hear about the injectors balancing out. I figured thats who did yours and I plan on having George make mine 45 overs in the next month or so.
