Thats not good, at first site I thought those pistons were machined like that and thought hmm thats an interesting cut. Then I said ohh Shit! Was that your engine? I thought you only had that engine running for a bit. Its crazy to see that kind of damage in a short time. What kind of timing and shot were you running and egts?

Boy, when you blow a motor, you dont mess around. Sorry to see it but glad you can salvage something from it.

Found the post in your BOOM thread about the possible hows and whys.

Yes, I was not easy on it thats for sure  It did surprise me when I pulled the heads today though, I expected the pistons to be salvagable after only 8k miles. Kinda makes me wonder why the all melted the way they did, I am sure the High EGT's did not help but before the build My original engine seen higher EGT's on a more regular basis. It's pretty amazing with that much erosion/melted piston none of them cracked.

Yeah, but what % injectors were they, and what timing and pulsewidth? You were definitely throwing some fuel around.

Were you running nitrous? Again, sorry to see it.

Damn that sucks what was done to the pistons were they new or reused cut and coated ?

Reused LLY pistons De-lipped, NO coating... I really doubt coating would have helped any in this situation.. Definetly trying something different on this next one, Arias maybe

No nitrous, only 40% Injectors and dual LLY CP3's... I do not tune my truck so I dont know the timing and pulswidth, but knowing my tuner's track record for conservative tunes and keeping motors together I doubt that had anything to do with it. I think I probably did most of the damage in one night at a local pull were I pulled 3 times back to back and pretty much melted my up-pipe bellow's and caught the truck on fire :booboo:
