I'd like some input on a a set of compounds I have been curious about. If a guy was going for instant spoolup while still supporting right around 900-1000 horse.
I had my stock turbo fitted with a regular cast 68mm wheel from a 4094. Nothing special at this moment. I'd put a better turbine and high flow vanes in it as well as port the turbine housing to compliment the 68mm compressor. A billet 68mm wheel would also be considered. At that point, it would be a stout little stock appearing turbo with near instant spool characteristics.
I'm curious how it would do with my s480 twinned with it. It is an 80/87/1.0, if I were to loosen the turbine side up to a 1.10 and keep it an 87mm turbine to maximize spool while still being able to flow alot of power through it.
So the turbo setup would be a Superstock turbo compounded with an 80/87/1.0 or 1.10..
I've heard some people talk about setups similar to this but I am not sure I've ever seen it in person. This is an option I'd be very curious to try out as I could make the remaining piping I'd need for not much money at all.
I think this twin setup would be sweet. Does anyone have similar setups to this?
