So I would like to add another story and conclusion to this. A few of my facebook friends on here already know part of my recent incident that happened so I figured I'd share. The truck ran fine and I've come to the conclusion the bearing noise is perfectly normal. And the more I drove the truck the more quiet they became.
However about a little under a month ago I finally replaced my leaky intercooler and was finally able to crank up the fuel. Bumped the tune from 1800µs to 2500µs. Didn't get more than a total of two 3sec full throttle runs before the small charger decided to grenade. What little time I got to look I believe the gauges showed roughly 70 total and somewhere between 25-40 from the large charger. I will say that I have never experienced something that fast in my life though!
Shipped the charger back to Comp Turbo. Within a week of them receiving it they called and said it was under warranty and they're fixing it, however it was my fault that it blew. Said it was a classic case of being over-spooled. I for one was not sure where my wastegate was set or if it even was opening. This had been my first trial run in setting up the gate. I later found a rip on the hot side intercooler boot. Not sure if it was from shrapnel or the boot actually blew and caused the charger to overspool.
But in conclusion they ended up sending me a brand new charger in an amazingly short amount of time. Showed up two days before my race here in Colorado and was able to get it back on the road. Joe at Comp Turbo has been nothing but helpful with keeping me informed on what was going on. Got multiple e-mails with status updates, and they even personally entered my phone number into the FedEx personal tracking updates. I received a follow up phone call four days after delivery just to see how everything was going and to inform them on how well the truck ran. They would not disclose the turbo maps for me to calculate initial and total boost however Joe did say to get some initial numbers and to personally call him and he will make sure the system and wastegate is dialed in the best. Definitely can say I'm happy with the outcome! I just need some new boots and a loose converter and this truck is done!
