what are you guys up north running for fuel? D1? last fill up was with D2 and used lots of the white bottle PS cold weather stuff and having lots of issues jelling. Not sure if I just got a lot of water or what but nothing in the water seperator on the AD

Im running D2 and the recommended amount of white PS. No issues with gelling, but noticed a drop in fuel milage over what I was getting over the summer and using grey PS.
Either water in there or bad fuel....
All the gas stations in cold areas switch to winter fuel specifically so you dont have to worry about it gelling. You shouldnt have to add additive to it.
In the 200k miles ive had my truck, between up at school in upstate NY for 4 years, and over a month of solid below 0* temperatures this winter in Wyoming (coldest so far I think was -20* or so), Ive never had any issues with fuel gelling. And I deleted my stock fuel filter head too, so I dont have a fuel heater either.
I dont run any additives or anything, I just fill it up with whatever they serve at the diesel pump.

I gel up with D2 from a truck stop even after adding a double shot of Howes to the tank. It got down to 0*F wasn't to happy about it.
I just fill up with whatever they have at the truck stop plus I add Howes or Schaffers soy shield. So far I've never had any problems, even last year when it was -40 deg F. It was -15 deg F yesterday and I've still got a 1/4 tank of summer fuel and I haven't had a problem either.
If you have biodiesel you're going to have problems. When I lived in Kansas City my friends pickups were gelling up when it was only 0 - 10 deg F, Biodiesel is terrible for gelling up.

No problems here either. I use whatever they have at the pump along with a dose of PS grey bottle. There is no anti-gel in that formula but I use it mainly for a boost in mileage. It really does work. Last night it was -30C and the truck fired right up...even with a messed Glow Plug control module.

I never had gelling issues until I installed my lift pump. The little tiny screen on the inlet side would always clog up.
i jelled up one of my last duramaxs by putting to much additive in. the recomended amount is what i run now! good luck since.
You gelled it up by putting "too" much additive in? Well that's a first. Never thought over dosing it could do that?

i was up in dututh last week... the say its treated for -10F.. i usually drop a whole 40 or 100gl grey PS bottle when i fill up... only problem i had was then oil doesnt like flolowing through 1/8" guage tubing and i thought i lost oil pressure....
I use what ever they have at the pump and a half bottle of FPPF total power been using it for a couple years now.
It cost me just over $172 to fill my Dually lol! An it wasn't even completely empty!

well took the cat filter off and filled it with that 911 stuff, then took the line off the cp3 and flushed it all out. It would only run with heat on it, so drained it down to a 1/4 tank (didn't have anywhere to put the rest) put a little bit of that 911 stuff in the tank. No one here as a 12V heater, so ghetto fab put a 200 watt stick on heater on the filter and ran an extension cord into the cab to the inverter to run it. yea I have a fuel heater on the way to undo that mess. Filled it up with 50/50 winter blend and she seems to be doing ok now
i drop 45-50gallons 1-2 times a day when im driving in the tank.. (60gallon)
i got one bad tank had standing water in the bottom... i dropped 2 bottles of 911 in it(full tanks) let it sit for 1-2 hours came back puddles where gone..
bad thing is 911 has alchol.. which stripes lube prop the good thing is its hydroscopic(absorbs water)
i filled up last night at love's they run 20% bio.... 52 gallons started fine... got to 75% throttle P0087 it was 0 last night in clearfield PA
