Dont let it fool you. Just like many of Waglers products there is not much info on it. Even on a LBZ it takes some modifications to make it work. Jeremy said they are working on a install kit. But we will see

First trip out to the track with the new setup. Had some issues with a pretty good size exhaust leak, pretty sure I narrowed it down to the up pipes/pedestal but fought it all day and smoked the lights 4 out of 5 runs...….. sucked, I haven't done that in years.

The one pass I got in without smoking the lights it ran a 10.61@126 with a 1.49 60' It went a better 60' on a previous pass but with a smoked timeslip, was prob a 10.50ish is what I estimate...……

All in all was good, Ill fix the leak and go again. I'm sure it has some 10.40's in her or close to it. Which is better then the compound setup that just came off. I'm happy with it.

So last year when I made new fuel return lines I just laid the fuel temp plug and sensor on the intake (clamshell) and just zip tied it to the harness, it just picked up whatever temp it could while just laying there, worked fine no issues.

With this new combo I was very curious as to what the intake temps would be doing with the new a/w ic and cooling sys combo. Since the lb7 doesn't capture intake temps (post ic) I decided to install the fuel temp sensor into the bottom of the new street intake...…….. drilled, taped, installed and use it as the intake temp instead (and be able to log with efilive). Extended the pig tail, along with the fps pig tail and ran with it. Wasn't sure how hot it would get, wasn't sure how high the sensor would read, didn't know if the ecm would freak out if it got to hot...……. or what is too hot??

Normal driving, in town and some freeway speeds intake temps stay from 120 to as low as mid 90's with good airflow (highway speeds). In traffic those temps will rise as the intake takes in heat from the heads and rest of the engine, but with the fan on it should keep it in check, still needs to be confirmed but so far so good.

Now racing...……… today was the first trip with the new combo. We made 5 passes in 3 hours, the last 2 were 20 minutes apart. The intake temps ranged from 115-138 during the run from staging to the end of the pass, that's no fan during the run just circulating water thru the cooling system. After the pass I would run the fan on the shut down, return road and in my pit, which this is my normal procedure anyways. I run one fan that now services both radiators, it works well. The temps rose to as high as 154 during the shut down and started dropping on the return road down to the 120's before I would turn the fan off.

The system is working really well, temps are happy, engine is happy and I'm capturing the data. Seems like a win win :)

how much do you have invested so far? asking for a friend.

I don’t know, I don’t keep track of that. And the combo has evolved so many times in the last decade, it would be next to impossible to account for everything.....

It wouldn’t be that difficult to figure out what it would cost to build it. We all know what these motor cost to build (it’s in my signature) even using mostly stock parts. In all reality I have more invested in the trans, od and rear end then the motor. It’s been that way for some time now. Strange rear end is about 4K. Od is 3500, and I have about 4K in the trans (including converter).

To build it ‘as is’ isn’t as bad as what I have ‘into it’.

Another weekend of testing, made the trip to Famoso yesterday. Track was on point, it took everything we threw at it. Got faster every pass, just ran out of time. Made some fueling, maf, batteries and bump adjustments during the week that all seemed to work out. Pretty sure this wraps up our 2018 season and we’re in a good spot going into 2019. Excited for next year!!

This was our best pass yesterday. 10.55

Forgot to post our last outing. Was last month in January here locally. Was only 1/8 mile passes due to wind and cold but car worked great. Best 60’ et and mph. Ran a best of 6.61@102 with a 1.435 60’. Hoping to doing better next week I’m Socal, running a 6.50 index class.

Drag week?

Exactly, we’ve signed up for the Summit Midwest drags and Rocky Mountain Drag week. Need to be ready for a platform for my tires or a small trailer. We’d like to sign up for Hot Rods drag week as well, just haven’t inquired about it yet for this year.

Also, we have plans on hitting local California events towing a small trailer trailer for my wife and I. Think it would be pretty cool showing up at some NHRA events hauling a little trailer, switching out the tires and blasting some low 10 sec passes.

No sled pulling for this car...... lol

Latest addition to our program. Went to Socal this past weekend, picked up our new trailer in Ventura. Towed the trailer to Irwindale and then back home. Ran a 6.50 @ 106 in Irwindale and put 1000 miles on the car in the process.

I bet you would have gone a lot faster if you took that camper off the back ! LOL That car is sooooo cool , I do wander how many times people ask you if you know you are loosing a few bearings or are you running solid lifters , things like that , till you open the hood then they say what is that !!!

Latest an greatest. Ran into a couple trans issues after Irwindale in feb. addressed them with a new case and some hard parts. Also made a good change in the converter. We’ve reduced slip from 13% down to 4%, and it’s still a traditional 400 non-lu. Picked up 3mph and some et. Towed my trailer up to Redding a couple weeks ago and ran a 10.41@128 with a very repeatable 60’. Then hauled the trailer down to Famoso and ran the WCHRA season opener last weekend. We doubled up and ran in pro bracket and d gas (10.60 index). We made 15 passes between both days, slowed the car down for d gas and hovered between 10.67 -10.55. Lost in the bracket class in round 2. Won D gas, then had a run off for king of the hill index, took runner up in the final of that race. Also turned it up for 1 pass Saturday then once Sunday. Ran a 10.28@133 Saturday with the same repeatable 60’ (but missed 2nd gear), then Sunday we hit it pretty hard on the line and it took it. Ran our best 60’ 1.409 and another 10.2@130...... ran out of steam before 1/2 track and the bottle pressure just wasn’t keeping up. We didn’t attempt another all out pass due to the class racing were we still in.

Over all the car did beyond good. We learned a bunch. Made some new friends and put another 500+ miles hauling the trailer down the interstate. Car never missed a beat.
