Does anyone have any pics of where it is? New to the Dmax and have the plug just wondering where to put it.

mine is custom intake y bridge but this is where it is.....it would look like a plug with a thick wire coming out of it:)

IMO its a good idea to remove the wire from the glowplug controller too or at the very least tape the crap out of it

the nice thing is we can actually use this wire to control other things:cool2:

It is used during start-up. If you don't believe me, crank your truck let run for 10- 15 seconds, shut off. Now remove power wire (10mm nut) then remove the intake heater.... now touch it:D.

Obd2 or others

Do they make a handheld to reset or turn codes values to zero? I really do t want to buy a efi live system at the moment but want to delete ahi and get. Something like a obd2 reader that can turn codes off permanently

No it will have to be disabled thru efi live. I unhooked mine and I never got a code unless it was below 50 degrees or so. If you get a OBD2 reader you can erase the code everytime it comes on....you dug pretty deep in the library for this thread:hug:

Its been such a long time since I deleted mine but seem to remember reading that guys were wiring up a light bulb to give it some resistance & not throw a code
This was way back before efilive was readily available, try looking at posts & threads from atleast 10 years ago

The ecm just needs to see the circuit pulled to ground to stop it from coding. A cheap incandescent bulb(led may nothave enough loading to ground) connected to the iah wire will stop codes. All that will happen is the light will come on when the iah should which will complete the circuit to keep the ecm happy.

dummy load

I have plugged mine and disabled it with EFILive, but it still shows around 5v while the truck is running..
Go buy a cheap lighted off on switch hook it up to thr power wire for source for th deleted heater ground it and leave it in the on position you can then erase the code and it will not come on again

I deleted mine & did the light bulb trick & so far no code. But mine didn't get a code for glow plugs with one side unhooked & all of them not working on the other side.
