On my 2013 Cruze, after the OnStar trial expired, they called me and offered me a year free if I would allow them to share driving data with State Farm (my insurance). This confirms what I suspected:
OnStar can (and does) record your driving amount and style.
They gave me 6 months free for listening to their pitch (sweet), but to get the other 6 months, I had to agree to share the data. Yeah, no.
Here's the problem: State Farm asked me how far it is to work. I told them the truth: 12 miles. So they assume I drive about 8k miles a year. I
actually drive about 22-25k a year (they didn't ask about vacation and road trips :angel
. So there is NO WAY my rates would go down (probably would go up).
But hey, for the next few months I can remote start my car from my cell phone again! :roflmao:
