Yes looking to see if anyone knows if a new Lbz block can be bought. Can't seem to find any gm parts places online that list one. Going to call Monday but thought I'd ask here as well.

I did not realize you could Sleeve those blocks. Mine got hurt good when I turned 1 piston to item 4 lol. Would a sleeved block be trusted for a high horse power build?

High HP build like 1000hp?

Done right wouldn't know the difference..
To sleave a whole block isn't a cheap process.. And its time consuming as well

Burkhard had a LML short block for 2,000 or so on his webpage

LML is currently in production.. And yes it is compatible will need to be balanced. I put one in my truck after breaking a crankshaft..
Several vendors sell them about 1000.00 shipped already keyed I got mine from Tony at DHD

Wagler competition had billet/fordged crankshaft available. Never really looked into them since I'm currently not even 1/2way to the HP level

Are lml any stronger than Lbz cranks?

Duramax cranks throw me off be time. Some guys reuse there stock crank, some get a new Lbz crank, and almost none get a aftermarket. Seems like holding big power is more in rods, pistons, and crank girdles

Lml blocks are heavier yet than LBZ/LMM blocks. I've got a few new ones here. That's what we use in our built engines with new lml cranks.
We have had blocks sleeved in the past also it can be done. Sleeve was around $180 IIRC plus machine and installation.

They are harder metal and have better counterweights. They are the better choice.

Not to mention less expensive than the other model years by a fair bit.
