Who said they aren't needed? I said that i felt this was developed as a fix for a problem years ago. Also, with the advances in friction design/material, steels, pistons and plates that have been developed and tested to adress these problems i didn't feel it's a necessity. Never did i say it's a waste of time, or not needed. Members are spinning words around to make this long and drawn out. If added security is what you need to feel good driving your truck worry free then by all means, Purchase.

They arent spinning words you are. You are implying that it is not needed with the newer setups. Then backtracking to say you never said never, which you didnt, but heavily imply.

Go back to your first post in this thread:
Not worth having in my opinion. You can drill the case and get a set of Goerend PTO covers but why? We tested the c3 and c4's that are in your trans in multiple trucks well over 1k hp and only had 0 oiling issues.. Do what you feel you need to do for added security but IMO you'll be fine without
"Not worth having" and "but why?" to most people means "Arent needed". But to your credit, you did also state that they could provide added security...so which is it? Why get down on people who want to maximize the longevity of their builds?

Easy, i wasnt gettin on anyones case here. Just looking for why is all. If i choose the wrong words to ask, my apologies. Like tom and vinnie said, you just heavily imply they are not worth the cost and i never saw where you stated why, so i asked.

My next question would be how the advances in these clutches are helping the lack of fluid that is there with the c3's? Again, no disrepect ment, just asking a vedor sone techincal questions based on your r&d and new clutches. I ask the same way with mike

I'm hoping it doesnt have to come out again, at least not for broken stuff, but the motors coming out again when I get the urge or before it hits 100k again to get built right this time instead of a get me by build. Guess that'd be a perfect time to have the tranny out too. If I hadn't have had my head in my ass with work and had my injectors pulled and checked when I had all that water in the tank as well it could been done the way I really wanted it the first time.

Is anyone running the PTO covers feel its worth the trouble to pull the tranny to add them or just get an actual C3 oiler?

It is not worth pulling the trans to do this. Trans must be totaly stripped because you are going to have a ton of aluminum to clean out.
The side covers is just another way to redirect fluid that is sitting there doing nothing. It dumps the fluid towards the bottom of the clutch pack so it is not that effective. But it sure is better than nothing.

That's what I was wondering, I didn't think there was any way to drill it out with out gutting it to keep everything clean.

So in the end nobody gets to hear the end of the story:confused:

You will tomorrow.

This is not about if the C3 oiler works or not. I have sold maybe 5 in the last 2 years and really don't give a shit. What this has turned out to be is an employee of SC jumping into another companys product. This is a no no.You notice I have been very nice here with Andrew because of my friendship with Ron. If a vendor here did this to SC they would get a warning and if they persisted would get shit canned.
I know exactly what Andrew does at SC.
