I dont think everyone is talking about the same thing aparently. Jordan says I dont know what a wave plate is and that MIKE L is the only one who special makes them.

how does suncoast include them in the sc4 kits that are sent out to the diy home builder then?

SC sends out 7 clutches in C2 with a slight wave in the top plate. It works for most people and is fine. I do it differently. I don't want to be another SC or ATS. I don't want to be big. Just having fun trying to be the best is all.
Will I attain that? Maybe.:D Have I attained that? maybe.:D

a wave plate is a custom "steel" that is waved in a press machine designed to do just that . mike is the only one who should answer the later question/statement !

i'll give you a hint ................................ its a plate with waves in it !

Wave plates have been around for a while ( 1965 as far as I know ). I have seen friction plates waved and steel plates waved. You can have a special waved cushion plate. there are different reasons to wave a plate and different ways to do it. Borg Warner waves a lot of plate for Mercedes Benz. This is where I saw them first. . BW also waved the frictions for Toyota and Volvo on the Aisin Warner transmissions. GM used a wave plate on most of their transmissions to absorb shock in the forward and direct clutches.
If you are going to wave clutches you need to have experience not in waving but in coefficient of the lining, verses the fluid, verses the apply and release of the clutch to keep from binding on the gear to gear transition.

It also obvious you don't have spell check.:D

And yes Mike, I have him on speed dial. Its an evil plot against you.:baby::rolleyes:

I ignore spell check like I try to ignore you. Spell check is quiet and doesn't give me shit; unlike you who is mouthy and torments me. I thought you would be in pig heaven with the gay marriage approval in Iowa. Once again I guessed wrong.
Not to change the subject, but have you won a sled pull yet with your daddys triple throw down, kick ass, leave everyone in the dust mods? My sources ( your friends say you are lacking big time.) :leghump::D

IIRC I put it between the clutches and the P1 planetary drive flange. It has been a while though.
