I am choosing to take the high road here. However, I need to vent and give some advice.

I purchased a part and paid through paypal to a non-business account. This goes as a money transfer and offers you no protection. The part was shipped via USPS. I have a pic of the receipt. Everything appears ok. However, the part can not be located by USPS. It was shipped Standard Parcel post( lowest priority available...read no priority).USPS has no idea where it is at and no idea if/when it will arrive. Bottom line I am out the money (greater than $110 and less than $1000). I do not have what I purchased and basically have no recourse in the matter.

My suggestions are the following:

1. Only pay with paypal when the seller sends an invoice. This does give you recourse through paypal.
2. NEVER use the USPS standard/parcel post

Sign me unhappy and no parts(as of yet)

We're sorry, but this transaction cannot be disputed because it is not a purchase of goods or services. Please contact the recipient directly.

This is what PayPal said:(

then you must have "gifted" the money. you would had to click the "for friends or family" where paypal does not back your transaction and no fees are pulled from the cash to the person you sent it to

As a buyer I will NOT pay as gift since you are not covered . Also will not use my bank account. I use a credit card and pay it back the next day. Then visa has a say in it.

As a seller I always require signature confirmation. Otherwise its your word against the mail man. Saved my ass twice now.

How long has it been since it was shipped? I sold a Fass pump to a member on hear and it got lost around Christmas time. It was shipped parcel post also. It showed it was scanned in at my post office than nothing after that.I contacted my post office an they filed a lost parcel on it after it was lost 30 days and I had actually refunded the money to the guy who bought it. Than almost 60 days later I was notified it had been found and was be shipped to the guy who bought it, luckily the guy still wanted it and ended up sending the money back for it. I seriously thought it was gone for good! So your parts may show up yet!

Its actually USPS fault but good luck getting money out of them from either the buyer or sellers stand point.

Pay the few extra dollars and send it priority mail. I've had way more problems shipping UPS than I have USPS.

Ditto, I've had so many problems with UPS I'll pay more to use someone else. I've probably received 200 packages from USPS in the last 3 months, mostly from China and I haven't had one problem.

The few items I have sold I shipped USPS, but, I insured the cost of the item x2 which protects me and the purchaser and consequently it requires the item to be signed delivery (cost is a factor) and I absorb the cost of the insurance and signed delivery above the agreed shipping....

First time I've ever read a "buyer beware" thread where the buyer had to beware of himself. Weird.

That exact thing crossed my mind when I read the first post. True story, I thought it had disappeared for good but fortunately for us both it showed up. It's on the truck and running great.

I never send as a gift, bit me in the azz before so if I have too I will pay the fees. Keeps you covered.

I always pay the difference for insurance and priority, buying or selling... That's a tough pill to swallow. Hopefully it shows up. Did the seller give you the option of priority?
