I always get tracking numbers- business or personal. Even if I am shipping something to family or them to me. UPS, USPS, Fed Ex, whatever- I always get tracking.

I have the tracking info. USPS stopped scanning after it left the origin post office. Tracking numbers mean nothing at that point.

I did not have any options on shipping mostly because the seller included shipping and I figured it would be reliable

Since we're talking about things getting lost in shipping, here's a funny one. A few years ago the shop where I worked replaced a transfer case behind a Duramax. When we sent the core back, it somehow got hung up in a sorting facility in Denver. After they searched for it for a couple of weeks, they found the box and sent it on its way. When it arrived, the box was empty. It was still the original box, and the box wasn't destroyed. It had been stapled with the heavy duty packing staples and taped up very securely. It didn't just pop open and fall out. Who steals a wore out core transfer case?

USPS has lost several items I have shipped. UPS never a singke one, I'll stick with UPS...

Times 1 million!!!!

I hate using any other carrier.

We had fedex ruin about 100k worth of thin wall tubing. All I can figure is, they tried to grab the box with two forklifts, head on, traveling at 30mph. Smh. UPS never damages them.

I pay almost double for ups vs usps & it takes longer with ups... I think vendors and people need to realize that one carrier doesn't work for all, some do but others refuse and I have to source it elsewhere.

I've had the best luck with UPS, has always been reliable; thanks TOM!!!:thumb:
For small item that don't have much value I'll use USPS being it's cheaper; I've also had great luck with USPS on small or flat rate items.

For turbos or other large/valuable items I use UPS, rates are cheaper when I have insurance so high and I've not had a single item with whipping a turbo through them.

I've gotten a few turbo's through USPS and 2 of them took a month to get and like other have said, tracking number doesn't show anything after a certain point.

I also don't gift money, if its a forum member that I talk to often on here or text/phone then I have but other than that I prefer both parties be protected as best they can.

Sorry to hear you're troubles OP, make a guy not want to do business online.

Exactly. For some reason when it has to go north of the 49th parallel with UPS it automatically needs to cost double at a minimum and take longer than with USPS or even FedEx. I don't get it.

I hear ya. I don't go through Beaverlodge when I head to work up the Alaskan Highway. I avoid Grande Prairie like it has the plague. Faster to go straight east from Dawson Creek. And no cops.
