Ya the 1054 is kinda what leaning to Evan as I can run at Albuquerque Dragway which is mile high and have no issues getting to light the chargers currently with the ML. I just don't want something to loose. But I'm all ears right now as I won't be buying the converter untill the first of May.

Unless you are going with bigger turbos if you can already spool fine at elevation there is no reason to go with a converter much looser then you already have.

Higher stall is your friend at higher altitudes especially when towing or spooling up off the line at the strip.
I had the PI ML built for McRat when he had a little trouble spooling Casper at LasVegas. He was running a SC 1057 at the time.
Yes sir your correct. Only thing is the 1058 to loose for me? Literally it takes my truck no effort to spool.. Just not sure what to go with. Heres a spool up and launch video near my ranch that sits at 4600' elevation. I think I'm torn between the 1054 & 1058 http://youtu.be/LFhHJWpb9CE

Blake we put a 1058 in Johnny's LBZ running a Danville 72 & he doesn't like it out here. He loves it at sea level but when our da is over 7k & it's 90+ degrees out you want more stall. I would go 1055. These other guys know much more than I do but I live & race where you do. Our air is craptacular!! I raced in Denver last year & I thought that was tough. Remember when you & I ran the 12.50 class in Albuquerque I had to rescale my MAF just to get the fuel to spool? The tune that worked in Denver wouldn't cut it in Albuquerque. Da was like 9k & 98 degrees out. Just my .02

Suncoast converters are awesome. The 1055 still couples well enough to tow imo.
Right but like i stated in my previous post I have absolutely no problems with my setup spooling with the ML. You've seen my truck first hand Aaron lol I feel like the 1058 would be a lil loose for my setup but you never know I may fall in love with it. I'm just leaning torwards Evans opinion since I don't have spool up issues.

What's the stall on the 1055? Higher then the 1054? I saw Aaron (mechanic) mention it but just thought it was a higher stall converter.

1055 is about a 2400 stall. My experience when I had a 1055 is that it couples very well, making it seem alot tighter than it is, but when you get some boost made, it will loosen up and stall like it's supposed too.

Couldn't have said it any better. I love the 1055

I just sent my ml converter off and had them restall it and check it all out for running a single s475 and had them stall it to 2800. Night and day difference from the little bit I drove it.

I run a 1053 now. It is 2800 stall and I LOVE IT. Has zero problem spooling 72/87/1.0 compounded with a turbonetics 88mm with 112mm turbine at 4500' elevation and 7200' DA.

Ya I was thinking going the route you went but I figure heck why not give it a try and if I didn't like it I'm sure it would sell being refreshed. So far I'm happy with it here in Texas.

I'm gonna get a kit coming in then will think about converters a lil more. I do like the sound of the 1055 if it couples well and has good street manners but allows me to stall a lil higher at the track.
