Mine did the same thing when the vanes where too tight. Slow and smoky then bam, takes off like a rocket. I'm sure your tuner would know this.

Have you logged vane position?

It's Marks turbo so I'd hope the vanes is right. I haven't logged them but I monitor them. At idle they're around 62% and 38% or so cruising down the road at 70mph

What size tires are you running? My truck would never spool up from 1500 rpm at 70 mph like you said in your first post . Mine feels a lot better rolling into it at or above 1800 rpm . Have you called Mark back about this ? He is one of the best !

Looks like you have a great setup , just role into it at a little higher rpm and have fun ! Many people would love to have that be their only problem . Or go to 4 10s Good luck !

When i put 34"s on mine it got real slow. Put 4:56 gearing in and it was a word of difference in acceleration

What are the vanes when you get on it?

The vanes got down to 7% when I got on it and it seems like tighting that bolt might of helped some. At 1500rpm at 70mph it's has 5 to 6lbs of boost and spools to 10 pretty easily. I don't know what normal boost should be at thatt rpm and speed. As far as the smoke I couldn't tell since its dark lol. But definitely made as step in the right direction

Under 1800 RPM you're really under the tq curve,
35" and 3.73 and bigger turbo make that shelf/ledge exponentially more noticeable even more so when towing lol..

4.56 would put you really close to stock, 4.10 would be my choice for DD/weekend hauler with 35" tires.

I'd definitely check the all the bolts on the exhaust side, make sure nothing else worked loose after first couple heat cycles

Wouldn't 4:30s be a better fit? More RPMs for spooling and towing but still low enough for DDing on 35" tires?

I think could be wrong though that a 35in raises a 3.73 close to a 3.42 so 4.10 would be close to a 3.73. Could be wrong though just what I've heard from old timers

Made up a spreadsheet and some graphs to see how the tires and gear ratios compare

Looks like with 35" tires & 4.30 matches real good to stock RPMs. 4.10s would work too. ones a little under while the other is a little over

*Edited* to include stock values in chart for comparison

Boost leak or drive pressure I'd guess. Sounds like you've checked for boost tho.
