Everyones definition of drivability is going to be different. Also what good street manners are.
I ran a s476 with 150s. Was a Smokey mess with a 1058. Switched to a 1053 and it was way way better. But still not as clean as I wanted. Granite 6 speed manual mode helped a lot along with good trans tuning.
If power is not a huge concern switch to a s468 or s369 in my opinion. I have yet had a vvt truck that impressed me in person. Seems like tuning is always off.
I think you'll be very happy with that 463 when Steve dials it in.Exactly.. I'm talking drivability not wide open. The truck runs amazing and cleans up at wide open throttle but not driving around town.
I'm going to run a s463. I've heard a lot of good things. And even cleaner tuning won't change how laggy that charger is.
Thanks for the input
Apparently my idea of good drivability is very different from others. I run a 68 stage 2r with 60s and dual pumps and spool is very similar to stock. I'm also at 7000 ft elevation and your elevation will play a HUGE role. A single 75 will not spool up here no matter how much fuel or what tuning you have. Hell, I wouldn't even daily a single 75 at sea level with the best of circumstances. I want to be in the charger, like now. A setup that doesn't spool until tomorrow takes all the fun out of a hot rod.

PS...don't lift it
I know what you mean here, I had a 468 on my lml and I liked it and then put a 463 in place of it and liked it even more.. Was a very good daily driver but I was still on stock injectors..And then you have people like me who hate how these trucks drive with a vvt. I can't stand that feeling of it always wanting to go. I love being able drive normal with 0 psi of boost and then waiting for a second or two for the charger to light up. Been DDing a 475/87 for 5 years and wouldn't consider ever running a vvt again. To each his own!
I agree on elevation. I'm at 5300ft and I run a stg2r with stock injectors and mark does the tuning and unless I flat foot it off a stop I have absolutely zero smoke. I had a 366/74 .91 borg and hated it up here for DDing, wide up was fun as hell thoughApparently my idea of good drivability is very different from others. Yes I had a 10mm cp3 conversion.. And I don't know how much exactly, never dynoed or raced it.. I was thinking around 600.. I told my tuner I wanted a pretty hot tune for it so might have been over that even.. It felt really strong, for me anyway lol.. I could get in 2 gear lock up and shower down on it and when it hit 3rd it'd break em loose and hit 4th right away.. That was with 305 mud tires too..Kiwi, what were you putting down with that 463 on stock injectors? Were you running a stroker pump?
VGT turbo for your HP goals hands down. A s475 and 100% over injectors are miserable in a daily driver, no matter what converter or who tuned it.
So what do you want for that 475???
