I'm trying to figure out which converter to go with? It will be a sun coast kit with a stock turbo for now, I don't think I will go over an s366 for a while.

I dd and tow with this truck and don't want anything that I will regret

I loved my 1056 SC. ran it for years with stock and 66mm HTT and towed 15k. I also had the precision ML and towed the same amount of weight with more power and it did equally as well.

I would buy it from you mike but I'm having Kelly build it and would like to have the warranty.

The 1056 sounds like what I'm after! Just out of curiosity what is the difference between converters? Say 1056 1057 1058?

Just a stall to help build boost for certain turbo setups?

1056 is stock stall, 1057 is tighter than stock I believe and 1058 is like a 2200 stall. Im not sure which converters have billet stators but at your current and future power levels, a billet stator is not needed. The looser the stall the better it is for a big turbos.

The 1056 will be great for you.

I ran a MLG with my last set up with a 366. I loved it. Spooled great. Plus its hard to beat goerends customer service.

The 1058 has a billet stator, I would recommend it if you are keeping the stocker for now but upgrading to a larger vgt or a non vgt(you mention a 66 kit). The new stator allows the converter to couple well to keep the stock charger performing well and works well with larger chargers. This is the converter I have sitting waiting to go in along with a 366 :thumb:

I was using a ML converter with the 366/483 compound setup loved it, going with a DA series on the new turbo setup. I can't wait to try it out.

The 1058 is a looser converter right? Wouldn't that suck for towing with a smaller charger?

The 56 is a 2000 stall the 58 is a 2300 stall. The 58 will be a noticeable difference in lockup over the others. It would work great for most any combo that you are talking about.

Well looser than a 1056, my issue is utah is not really that flat and don't want any problems towing my trailer camping. Don't get me wrong I'm open to suggestions I just need to understand why haha I'm new to this

If you drive high altitudes you will need a looser converter or your turbo will have trouble spooling.
If you drive a stock tune LML; the 1058 is the only converter to use. Once Rob tuned my LML, the 1058 became worthless. My MLG worked much better. Nothing wrong with the 1058 as it is one of my favorite converters, but it's all wrong for the LML when tuned properly.

I also have a 1056 and have been very happy with it. I have ran it with a stock IHI turbo, DTS 64mm IHI, and a DTS 66mm IHI. Has worked well with all.

I'm going to bump this thread as I'm contemplating letting my 1058 go I have the Danville 3794 charger (65mm billet ) and I think the 1058 is way too loose for my setup (marks tuning as well ) looking into the goerend ml 1800 stall would love some more opinions.

Why not just send it in and have it restalled then.....
