Air comp room built outside of shop so you don't have to listen to it.
Outside is better, but if you can't spare the space outside, or don't want to pay for an extra room; build an interior mezzanine or shelf for the compressor up high, it will get the noise up off the floor.
Plan for where you want the lift and reinforce the slab in the areas underneath the lift columns.
Mine has 14' eaves, which fit the 12' lift columns perfectly, so there was a lot of room up high. I would also add the high windows for natural light. With them up high, there is light with added security.
Oh, PAINT THE FLOOR AND WALLS with GLOSS paint before you move in. It is a MAJOR help with cleaning and light.
