What about to run an older crank in an lml block?

do you not get it? there are no physical changes needed? if a LML crank is a direct swap into an earlier block, and the counter weight profile difference doesn't affect which block it goes in (the difference is very minimal)....the journals are the same.....whoever told you it couldn't be done was wrong...

You really think any of the Duramax balancers weigh 1 lb?
no I think the counter weight is 440 grams on an lly according to Gary at ATI when I called and asked which year had the most amount of imbalance.
Does that sound about right to you Joshy

lml piston pins are the lightest of the bunch as well, I have all the measurements written down at the shop.
The lml pins are tapered at the ends so using them greatly reduces bob weight if that matters to anyone.

Sounds a little light to me, but I have never checked it. I have my stock LBZ balancer somewhere. I'll take some measurements and see if I can get a rough calculation. That's not what you said though. You said 440 grams of weight spinning around, not 440 grams of counter balance.

Well I was a little reluctant especially with the big heavy lmm throws and all the extra webbing if everything would clear.
Has someone done this successfully yet?

You are all very intelligent people.

so how comes an ounce of dope is only 28 grams when you buy it?
I don't buy dope, but I would assume it is because of rounding. Maybe next time you should tell your dealer you want a full ounce (28.3495 grams).

I think its mostly just like what Ben said (durotothemax) we dont want to be misunderstood and people will google what ever and the search may bring up...no it will bring this thread up becasue of the content. There is theroy here and trying to get to the bottom of things and it needs to be true and correct. If anyone will get to the bottom of things its probably the guys on here.Thats my oppinion.Theres some very smart people on here im just lucky to be a memeber.:D

I agree very about the smart people.
But when you take phrases and not whole sentences and quote them it is taken out of context.
Then the average reader or entry level reader gets super confused and instead of having an forum about bent cranks we get a bash justin thread

Which is thoroughly enjoyable non the less sir:happy2:
