Yikes, sorry to hear that! Carillo's are the the only rods we use and we have never had a single issue with them. I'm old school, I find something that works for me and I don't go looking for something else if I'm not having an issue. Same reason I am only using Oval race cast pistons, until they fail me no reason to try all these new billet pistons being offered up on the market today. Seen far to many issues lately and these things are not cheap to play with...
mine look absolutely identical to the first picture. no seize anywhere. the Pistons are cracked at the bottom only where the rod slapped it one time. so clearly this is not uncommon. I'm not gonna give up this is bullshit.
anyone wanna get together on the issue I think as expensive as this stuff is it should not be let go. I have a truck down and can't afford a 3k set of rods. something is gonna happen
I'm interested. I didn't bother since I assumed my failure was a freak occurrence but I'd definitely be interested in pushing on them to get some kind of compensation.
My failure killer two pistons, crank, cam, girdle, oil pans, block, etc. this is the reason I have my lml, I had to have my truck to move.
In the first post he said crower cams. So I assume these are not Brian crower rods.

Ya when I saw through the hole in the block I assumed something had seized. Once I pulled it apart that's obviously the first thing I checked and aside from the rod being destroyed all the bearings bushing etc looked pretty good
Funny that Pat has stuffed these same rods through a block and only twisted them a little... Gotta love steel quality these days:thumb:
