Ya know Greg, you're quite the interesting character, and the most disappointing and tragic thing about all of this is, you could be someone that was genuinely admired by the members here, and have more genuine support elsewhere, as well, if you just adjusted your attitude. Bcuz from what I see and read, as far as the forums are concerned and where the legit, and "in the know" enthuiasists are, like here on DD, this is the energy and buzz you tend generate
And that's sad.
It's sad that I'm taking the time and feel this strange need to write this too
It's sad because, judging by your sponsors, people in the industry you associate with and fundraisers you attend and put on and whatnot, "in person" I would wager you're a very charismatic individual. Judging by your time in the sport and industry its obvious you have passion for it. Judging by your 60' times and records in the past, your a pretty damn good track driver too. I haven't found record of you wadding it into a wall going down the track, either.
But none of that relates through a keybaord, your success doesnt matter if you try and lead with it as a self promoting TROLL, and its not transparent or implied. On the net it ts truly black and white and you need to be analytically correct. You can't be a "cowboy" online and get the same response youre used to in the physical world because your body language, smirks, smiles and voice inflections, don't play...your charm is limited to your vernacular and ability (or inability) to express and interact with it ...and if or when you're claiming to do something, you can't be expected to be taken at "face value" without the consistency of proof, and consistency period.
It really seems to me like you're used to being in control, having things your way, and not being questioned...and that's fine for you in your world...you're the driver, you're the spokesman, the owner operator, you're the driving force behind your team and business, as it should be...but you're not the mechanic, you're not the engineer, you're not the mechanical visionary, you're not the talent behind the wrench...and DuramaxDeisels IS NOT YOUR WORLD
And you need to stop acting like it, and embrace the things that you're blessed with talent for...because sir, you're in a VERY SPECIFIC atmosphere of people who are blessed with tremendous mechanical talent who have earned degrees, established successful businesses, enjoy(ed) successful careers from and have devoted their entire lives to diesel motorsports....and there's guys like me, enthusiast's who will spend their only dollar on a go fast part and install it in their gravel driveway, on their back, in the friggin rain in November in the Pacific Northwest... Just for a tenth of a second quicker ET in 1320 feet...
And we see through your BS and arrogance.
So when I say I respect you, I do
When I say, shut up and drive, post results and show us you working on something and doing something of value... I say it respectfully hoping you will, just to protect your own dumb ass and possibly gain some support
When I say I hope you do something epicly positive next year, I mean it Greg...cuz no one wants to see someone end up as a washed up, old, hazbeen racer
Just drive your cart man, post some slips, vids of the car and leave it at that.
Please stop.acting like you're an innovator of or spokesman for diesel sports, because your not, you work with them Greg, youre not one of them, there's a difference...
If you need a good example to structure your forum interaction by, AND YOU ACTUALLY WANT TO BE A PART OF this community, look up Mark Broviaks threads, Brett's threads, Verlon's threads, Rob's threads, look up peoples build threads...and oh I don't know...TAKE INTEREST IN SOMEONE ELSE FOR A CHANGE! But if you can't, just watch the videos and que into how people interact with the forum, take notes if you have to and bring something to the table that's similar...you want to appeal to the masses Greg? Then listen to them and do what they want...its not rocket science
Best of luck Greg, I mean that-
