I may have missed it but what drive pressures and EGT's is it making? With the stated boost and all that flow it must be pretty low as would the EGT considering. Great start!!

Numbers on the dyno where
Total boost 85psi
Drive press 85psi
EGT 1850 deg.

What is the plan for this engine (the old one on the dyno) now that a new one is being built?

Keep it as a complete runner ready to go, god for bid something happens to the new one. This one will be ready to go in!

(We know how it spooled and performed ;) )
Did I miss something here, I didn't think the new engine was tested yet?

Cuz, the big question would be
WHAT KIND OF POWER DID IT MAKE...?

Think he was running the old engine and turbo set up on the dyno 1st
And then breaking in and testing the new set up, and I don't think that happened yet?

1 to 1 boost drive and 1850 is pretty sweet:thumb: Very nice combo that is. Nice having that kind of a performer for a back up:D

No kidding. Most people are striving for that on their only engine. That's one sick back up engine, not that we forget or ignore the trial and error it took to get it there.

Sorry guys, those are the numbers from the old engine. I have the new engine but I need to wait until we're done testing with the old engine so I can switch my turbos over to the new engine.

I started college funds for all my kids when they were born. No way will I ever get into a hobby deep enough to take away from my kids! I never went to college, not that I didn't have the opportunity to. I got the taste of money young and could not go without it. Lol.

Still going to run the factory clamshell Intakes? Just curious after all that money spent, but I'm just going off of hear say of cylinder exhaust temps varying 100* across some cylinders... And from what I've seen I believe it to be true too, most head gasket failures I've seen are on cylinder 7 or 8. And all cracked pistons I've seen are cylinder 7 or 8. Doesn't mean anything, but enough to put some thought into it for me.

Looks like a sweet piece, do those fire rings get used with a factory type gasket, or something different?

Matt we've discussed with Brett going to the street intake but the issue is with how the engine fits in the truck his turbo sits on a 4" PPE pedestal to be short enough to fit under the cowl. We don't think the turbo sitting that low would clear the intake.

Due to the limited amount of space above the valley charger we are going to stay with the clamshell intake. I'm using the 4" PPE ped now and you can see from the pic the turbo is right up to my cowl.

I used the clamshell intake on my old motor with no problems at all.
