It has a port that needs to have boost pressure to it. I'm sure it pushes the valve closed.

The last valve I had was setup that way as well. Was just curious if there were reliability or creeping issues with these units when the boost numbers are closer to triple digits.

The boost goes into a contoller first that controls pressure on the blow. When you let off throttle it reuses pressure keeping the blow off closed and allows it to open and bleed off pressure. Usually they have around 15 lbs more pressure than your total boost. Then the contoller allows boost to over take the 15 lbs spring and then it opens.

I have 2 buddies both running blow off valves on built engine trucks. One triple turbo and the other is a gtx4202r over a 91mm borg. Both trucks see 80 psi and their blow off valves work great. Other than the gtx4202r (swapped in recently), the other 4 turbos have been living at 1000whp for the last 3 years no problem.

80 psi is loud when the valve opens:D

Has anyone ever seen a data log of the shaft speed of a turbo with a BOV when it pops off under alotta boost?

I looked at this one on turbo smart and it looks like it would be a pain to install. Does anyone have any experience with this kit? It has a controller as well.

not bad to install tapping into your app sensor wiring at the throttle pedal is easy biggest part is to figure out where to put it on the cold side pipe which is preferred and have somebody tig weld the flange on.

is this the turbo smart ones? because the operation of those ones are real simple spring on the valve opens it and boost pressure keeps it closed using a solenoid the controller just energizes the solenoid to dump boost pressure so the valve will open.:)
