It does suck to be screwed over, when a deal is to good to be true chances are it is. Same thing happened with my truck, I paid well under book value for it and come to find out there was a reason. Yes the sellers who do this to ppl are a-holes, but it happens  Fact is even though he got screwed on it he'll still have a damn good truck for under 30K and since the book value on those things with low miles is up around 25K stock, it's really not all that bad. Just trying to point out the silver lining here, that how I justified putting 6K in my truck to make it right :D

No kidding, he painted the whole thing graphite gray, seriously???

It helps hide the soot from the dumb-ass turbo install.

Why do I now get the feeling his "built motor" is simply painted, and if you tear it down it'll just be a (broken) stock low end?

This MD-Dmax, is he a 20-some kid or a middle age guy?

I'm almost 100% sure its built but with all the bs even 20k isn't that much of a deal. Especially since the turbos need rebuilt.

Yea, he's 21 or 23, can't remember, but I'm only 20 so I won't hold that against him....

Hes 21 years old, has 2 kids, is not married, and does not have a "financially stable job".

^ these were his own words, not mine. Ill see if I can find the thread where he posted that. Oh it all makes so much sense now. :)

People like this is what gives the rest of us in our 20's bad names and makes everyone think we do sh!t work. I wouldn't be able to sleep knowing I sold something like that. I felt bad when i sold my last truck because It did not have the up pipe and turbo heat shields but atleast I had the balls to tell the buyer.

Amen, I felt bad when I was doing my motor and forgot to put the little aluminum heat shield under the turbo. I couldn't imagine having a hand in something like this

X3 I am the definition of a perfectionist, i took the whole intake back off my truck after it was all put back together because i didnt put the gasket between the turbo and mouthpiece. I thought it was still stuck to the mouthpiece but my brother had peeled it off.
