I was at the starting line in Hopkinton for security, waited around till the first two heats finished and then came home. Didn't hear a thing about it till 5 minutes ago haha
Glad to see dissemination of information was working at its finest today...that's all. I have a few friends in the second and third heats. Hopefully they are OK.
I just spoke with a friend in town. He was a little ways away but said that he had no service. All the towers were overwhelmed with the call volume. Also have a few friends that are working in town. They said the internet was down and their employer told them what happened and sent everyone home.
No, absolutely not. I literally had no idea about it and was just there. I guess we had just gotten back to the unit when it happened.

This doesn't seem like the blasts came from outside, but looks more like it came from inside the building. From all the pics I see, there is no scorching on the ground anywhere, at least that I can see. But all the glass is broken out of the storefront.
And they are saying around 6 people were hurt. I would think there would be a pretty large crowd at the finish line.

The finish line had thousands of people within a square block. Even the last 4 miles, the sidewalks are packed full. I can't say whether there was a tip off or not, but there were extra security measures taken by every agency this year.
Unreal, how sick do you have to be.

All i can say is the hope for a fast recovery for the victims not the case for some. Also don't believe anything the news is saying right now they are blowing up the seen even more. Wish i could announce more of the matter but at the moment i cant. All i can say is take the media for a grain of salt bc just like the Sandy Hook case it was twisted and blown up as well. Hope everyone is safe and yeah obviously they didnt need guns for this one
I had a friend that was at mile 25 of the race watching. She is ok but is now stuck in the city and having a hard time getting anywhere. My brother also goes to school in Boston, I talked to him and he's fine but says it is quite a gongshow down there. One of the many reasons I try to avoid cities.
pretty crazy, but i honestly hate to say it after i was overseas in 03 that when i came home i was suprised there wasnt more crazy sons of bitches that werent doing ieds and shit like that all over to try and be copy cats. We deff have become a sick ass world and its scary to be raising children in these times.
I wish they would publicly hang the people responsible for this! There are some real sicko's out there!
