if its blowing the dipstick out and you have the PCV rerouted to atomosphere then you got problems. you should be abe to feel some blowby coming out of the reroute hose even at idle. Let it idle and kink the hose for a couple seconds then release it and it should give a puff of blowby. if its not plugged and still blowing the dipstick out.....well.....you know.

Seriously??

yup, to have that amount of blow by, you have to have a major amount of compression in the crank case. A plugged PCV might pop the dipstick out but its not gunna blow oil out like that

pop the oil filler cap off and see if you have blow by comin out of it, then check your balance rates. that will tell you what cylinder to do a compression check on

On my 2003 Cadillac cts the Pcv froze up and shot the dipstick out, along with oil. Also blew my valve cover gaskets. That's a gas engine tho, dont know if thats a big difference or not

Yep seen this happen on equipment. That's why I suggested he check to see if there was something coming out of the hose. Hope its that simple.

My old motor used to do this every once in a while. Not sure what it was but I didn't have cracked or holed pistons.

X2, mine did too many times. I ended up crimping the top of the dipstick tube to make it fit tighter. I would be checking your reroute hoses to see if they have an issue with them. If you cracked a piston you would know it!

UPDATE!! Plugged PCV! I drove from -35C to a place that was +9 C in one day, filled the oil, pushed in the dipstick, washed my engine compartment, drove 1100km (600 miles) no issue...PCV musta had water/snow in it and froze shut, probably from my roommate blasting it with the snow blower. :thumb: Thanks for all the help guys!! I figured PCV but I'll be honest, you had me worried!

Lol good deal man. Had not heard of that, only heard of cracked pistons causing it. Good to hear though!
