How is the end of your PCV tube cut? Mine is cut at a 45 degree angle, so far so good. Also how does your truck drive with the 72mm and stock fuel? Thanks.

I'll probably angle it more, and the truck drives good with the 72 but my EGT's are unmanageable as of yet. I'm running 36" tires, Ted figures gearing is the solution, and it probably is, however I'm running way higher EGT's than several guys on here with aftermarket turbos and 36-39" tires on stock gearing. I have a hot side pipe, technicooler, full egr delete, water/meth, up pipes, down pipes, manifolds...everything you can buy that lowers egt's and I still have to downshift, unloaded, driving up a long hill. Not good for my tow rig. :(

UPDATE!! Almost 4 years later, it happened again lol and again I was worried I holed a piston... nope, PCV Plugged. 10 quarts of brand new amsoil 5-40 (literally brand new) oil out under the hood and this time the exhaust pipes... serious blow by, it was -30C again... runs like a champ now that I knocked the ice out of the reroute...

My question is, with that much oil blow by, how do I clean out the top of my motor? I assume there is sludge everywhere now? if it came out my tailpipes it must have gone through my turbo, any suggestion that doesn't involve ripping it apart? It runs great, just worried about gumming up in the future.

Thanks!

I use a pressure washer with hot water and engine degreaser. I don't direct blast the Ficm/ecm with it though.

What size hose are using for your PCV re-route? I had trouble with 1/2" hose and went to 5/8 plus routed it over the right rear of the engine closer to the exhaust to keep it warm.

I use a hot water pressure washer as well. Works wonders. Sometimes hit it with some Simple Green if the hot water alone isn't enough.

His LBZ won't have the FICM, but I blast my FICM all the time. Also run it dry for a couple years now. They are a lot tougher than GM lets on, IMO.

I've steam cleaned my engines for years never had any issues other than a really nice clean engine bay....

Thanks guys but I mostly meant turbo and heads.

That amount of oil blow by might clog something up??

Just ran into this exact issue. Been parking outside with -20 to -30 nights and lots of warm up idling. What a huge mess but at least it's not a real problem.
