If it is the water pump does it need replaced? Or will it be fine? I really dont feel like changing it now after all that work. AC delco pump too. Smh

The water pump and CP3 are gear driven off of the cam gear right below where the oil fill is. Sounds like something with those three and doesn't sound normal to me but very hard to get a feel for how loud that is.

I have not changed mine and it has quieted down. Do what I suggested first before doing anything about it. My pump is an ac delco from socal diesel and is welded.

That is the only bulletin pertaining to you truck....copy that into SI and read. Although thats not the sound your referring to, its the only bulletin I found. This sound is usually heard on the newer LMLs the most after an oil change, the typewriter click sound. Which is normal. As its an oil pump clearance issue but will cause no premature damage to anything.

Petroleum rotella. Although im about to put the mobil delvac in tomorrow. Quinton did that filter fix the noise or the smoke/blowby?

Yes the filter fixed the noise, blowby and the smoke from exhaust pipe. If its clogged the motor has no way to breathe.

I dont know what else to think. My bosses is completely stock. Makes identical noise. Im just gonna say screw it. I cant hear it unless the fill cap is off so whatever. Yea i have that filter off but currently installing an hsp 3 inch y-bridge so ill see if it makes a difference tomorrow.

If it is something then it will make itself known sooner or later
